Wow this one is getting alot of attention in the SS forum. Can you listen to the radio? It'd be fun to listen to those 70s trucker songs flying down the highway in your semi.

Yeah the radio really works. It picks up stations off of the internet.

Interesting that they've preemptively added The Pinnacle to London's skyline, even though it remains unbuilt and will quite likely never be built, at least not in that shape.

Seems we have two threads for this sim going on. I'm still on demo mode, five loads in. Some of my shots can be found in this post: http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3730020/Re_Haulin_Euro#Post3730020

And I've discovered mods, including one chap who's posted videos on YT with ETS2 and a home-made Pete 359 mod with TONS of very cool customization options. I haven't found where to get the mod yet, but it's out there somewhere. (video link: http://youtu.be/s4hLbOXbVMM )

That just means I'll have to buy the dang game, mod the @$#^ out of it just so I can tool around Europe in a stretched and lowered Pete 359 long-hood with a 600 Cat and an 18-speed manual. LOL!

As an offside, I really like playing the Hard Truck series, though I haven't played the new ones, or should I say "driven"?!

Anyone tried the newer HT series and/or the Scania series of sims? Screenies would be great, though in a seperate thread for sure.

Hey, do you know how to add channels from 181.fm to the radio list? I've been looking for the correct address/link, but don't know how to find one that works.

It freaks me out when I think about how big the universe is.
Just so big and growing bigger, exploding outward constantly in all directions,
so no, I don't care how fast I was going, officer.

Sorry, no. I just opened the Radio Stream tab in the game settings and all these stations just showed up. There were 6 .181 FM stations. The Bluegrass station is kinda fun for a while, though I swear I'm going to break something if I hear another fiddle biggrin Just earlier I happened to tune into a Ukranian radio that was doing a Ronnie James Dio special. That soothed the nerves.

Damn 4 wheelers

After a rain storm. You can see spray from the road coming from tires/tyres.

Awesome screens mate.

The other cars seem dangerous!

How is the a.i.? Is that the a.i. screwing up, you misjudging or the the occasional a.i. acting like some of the idiots we have on the roads in the real world?

Hitting the gold colored SUV was my fault...didn't slow down in time. The first car was passing and came into my lane on a curve. Saw him last minute and took a trip through the grass.

So pretty good a.i. then, going about their business.

Do you see longevity in the game? I'm so tempted to get this.

I imagine that once i get up to the upper levels i'll lose interest. Unless they expand out the map...ie USA, Russian etc.

I have 2 trucks now and another driver.

I would say the AI is indeed pretty good. You will see unnecessary queuing at uncontrolled crossroads and cars cutting in front of you (but I see plenty of that IRL too) and when things go wrong their collision avoidance is nil. If you don't do anything out of the ordinary, they will create a credible impression. Now this is probably my imagination gone wild, but there have been occasions when I think I saw an AI car yield its right of way to me and signal with its headlights.

As for longevity, the developers are working on a map expansion DLC: http://blog.scssoft.com/2013/01/ets2-eastern-european-expansion.html
There are also third party map mods, but I haven't tried them so I can't tell if they are any good. Of course, sooner or later you'll have all the skill points, tried all the vehicle upgrades, or discovered the whole map. But even then I can imagine driving around once in a while just for the fun of it.

Thanks Johan.

I don't tgink you're imagining the cars yielding, I've read a couple of accounts of that.

I think ETS2 is the best truck sim out there now. SCS did their homework, allright. AI seem suicidal at times, but if you live over here you'll find that it's surprisingly realistic. I'm at level 21 now and haven't feel bored yet. In fact, I'm seriously planning on buying G27 so I can enjoy it more.

I only wish somebody does a working bus mod for this sim..
