interesting. I wonder if this means they have a new graphics engine for AF? If its on the Mac I don't think DX7 will run, unless they have a DX translation layer. If it is a new graphics engine, I wonder if there'll be a new release/update as well for Windows. OpenGL...?

AF runs great on Win7 for me. I had to pick the non T&L option in video settings though. Once I did that, it ran fine. Been working okay apart from the corrupted Knee map despite the current fixes. Whats your knee map like - are you on ATI or Nvidia?

Maybe F5 (or whatever) is taking a bit longer than they thought it might. So why not take your snazzy new OpenGL graphics engine and throw out a quick moneymaker (Mac AF) to keep the lights on until F5 (or whatever) is ready.
That is, of course, based on a LOT of conjecture. But it's one POSITIVE possible explanation. This doesn't have to be a bad thing, right?

Ed_1 answered my PM! Still waiting on an answer from Graphsim, though. I can't really give much info on this, as I don't run a mac so I am not beta testing it to see it . AFAIK its a F4-AF ported to mac (OpenGL I think) . Best to ask Graphsim if there any differences between windows and mac version .

With BMS 4 inbound, the new Falcon standard will soon be set, no matter what LP has (or IMHO has not).

cool! so if its ported to OpenGL, I wonder if they'll have a new Windows release as well with the OpenGL engine? As I had originally thought. He is telling you to ask Graphsim because, Graphsim the publisher and LP the developer are separate companies. Graphsim is probably just porting this to Mac for extra bucks and, unfortunately, because nothing is likely on the near horizon for new releases from LP. Keeps the ball rolling a bit until that time comes. This sounds like a completely separate project to me. All publisher no developer. Sounds like they are buying time to me. Good news is that they are doing this at all, and not turning their back on Falcon. I agree. I think they're buying time. So that they can release F5. Here's what we know: LP seems to be the developer of Mac AF. (Publishers don't write code) Ed_1 works for LP. He obviously has had very little to do with Mac AF. (His work is data.) What does LP pay him for?

I just got an answer from Graphsim. This is a direct port and there is no new graphics engine. Wonder what this 'direct' means. The thing that bothers me is "Intel MAC". Such info for MAC ported games usually means that it's just windows exe + Cider (Mac OSX version of Cedega, windows emulator). Some games where release this way. F.e. original version of X3 for MAC. If that's the case it's not port at all, it's just commercially prepared boundle with emulator + windows version (with some bug fixes to allow it to run without problems).
