We have opened and will continually expand a Black Shark user FAQ on our forums. Due to its dynamic nature, we cannot crosspost the contents here, but we encourage you to take a read through it.

I hope you'll expand on this aggressively, so every user with a problem and a question can be directed there. Every sim should have such an official "living" FAQ... maybe even linked from inside the game.

Yes, we plan on adding FAQs as we run into them.

Mods - any objections to keeping this a sticky for a while? I think it's a good resource for new pilots, but I don't want to have to bump it up all the time.

Thanks for creating a new FAQ. The old one sort of dealt with questions from almost the very beginning of the development process which was cumbersome to go through. This new one for the release is perfect.

Thanks Evil. Let me repeat here: If you don't have a Force Feedback joystick, disable this entry in \...\Config\Producer.cfg. This makes the difference between an enjoyable flight experience and involuntary stay in a mental hospital.

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the universe is for it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more inexplicable.
There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

Just a quick note that we have been adding to and editing the FAQ over the past couple of weeks. If you have not checked it recently, you may want to take a look and see what's new.

A few things I noticed when I started the process of buying this.
I was curious about a few things around ordering and thought I'd pass them on.

A) Why isn't there a valid digital certificate on the download site?
http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com
My web browser jumped up and down and said not to enter!

B) The pay to download page is outsourced to a third party, not specifically trusted by Visa NA.
http://www.protx.com A Perfectly normal practice to outsource payment, however it's a UK based company with no accreditation with Visa in North America that I can tell. They also don't state how long they will keep your credit card number and if you dig deeper you agree to allow them to share this information with third parties they deem fit. Ah OK...

C) The EULA of the game specifically forbids resale without their permission.
I'm not up on all the legalities of EULA's, but that may not fly as gospel in certain states/provinces.

3.1 Except as expressly set out in this Licence or as permitted by any local law, you undertake to use the Program for your own personal use, and you shall not:
(d) sell, rent, lease, sub-license, distribute, loan, translate, merge, adapt, vary, modify or otherwise transfer the Program, or any copies of the Program, without the express prior written consent of TFC;

This is very alarming: what exactly would be shared?

What sort of crap is this?

Let me make a suggestion:

1st Party: ED
2nd Party: Protx
3rd Party: VISA or whoever they're using as a middleman
Data shared: what they need for billing you

But anyway, at least my card is still secure even after buying through Protx wink
