Well, we can only hope that the gfx are on that level in 12 yrs \:\)

Anyway,
here's my type VIIC-41 (lenght: 1.7m, weight 13kg), still unfinished:

leaving the harbour in heavy weather, lets hope those d*mned enemy A/C don't show up

on the way to the assigned sector, weather's getting better

destroyers detected...ALARM!!!

waiting for the waterbombs, parked on the ground

still waiting

I think they gave up, surfacing to check...

ok, they've dissappeared, let's continue to the sector

waiting for the prey...if there wouldn't be a war going on, we could enjoy the mood...

still waiting..where is the convoy?

it's getting dark...and more moody

unfortunately, no convoy on this mission. But hey, we are alive.
On the way home, we meet with U-995 to exchange the latest news from the "heimat"

Unfortunately, U-995 was sunk shortly after we met.

Fortunately, this isn't WWII, and some very friendly divers managed to rescue my friends U-Boat from 3m of depth after a week.

S! to those brave divers!

OK, that's it. I hope you enjoyed this little trip to the waterworld. IL-2 rocks!

So, in 2020, the scale between man & machine will be off by a factor of few thousand!? Those divers are freakin' huge!

Or, they're Nazi engineered super humans! Either way, it's historically inaccurate, and deserves nothing less than complete contempt from the community!

Nessie was torpedoed shortly after the pic was taken. Easy kill \:D

joe,
i got the hull from ebay for a nice price. It's originally from a manufacturer called hasse . A few years ago, the manuf. was called "Schaffer". That's the name that is still usually connected with this kit.

Amazing,

So the hull is designed with motor mounts, or at least enough room to add your own servos and such?

Yes, it is.
There is room, but there's not much of it:

that's how I bought it:

motors:

rear section with rear tank (selfmade):
