it looks like he was taking cover behind the trees but the angle was able to get to him and the velocity is unbelievable, even if it didn't get to him it was s risk to his buddy's there.

I guess he will re-watch that video a few times thinking why he did that so close for the rest of his life?

I remember picking up one time that for every limb you loss it takes 5 years off your life due to the nature of the body and the impact it has?

Blows my mind, I have worked with C4 and I'm telling you, you better have a healthy respect for explosives.

Heck, I cringe everytime I see guys throwing around cans of 40mm, I know it is packed to be dropped, but it still makes me nervous seeing that stuff get tossed around.

Shrapnel happens when you blow metal objects up. As far as I'm concerned it's the equivalent of guns shooting in random directions from the source.

In the age of GoPro's and affordable HD cameras, IDK why anyone would want to be so close to an explosion. confused

Use a damn tripod!!

Well you saw how many times he missed, for all we know he started off at a safe distance but couldn't hit anywhere near the target.

Just because something is legal doesn't mean it's smart.
You can either legislate as much as possible to try to make things safe (will never happen, people are too stupid)...
Or you can circulate the consequences of idiots like this one abusing their rights and what's "legal".
That redneck moron is lucky to be alive. I hope that gets a billion hits.

Of course for every idiot that does things like this there are 100 more that think they could do it "right" and will try the same damned thing.

Yep.

Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

Someday your life will flash in front of your eyes. Make sure it is worth watching.

For the rest of his life, he is going to figure out the best way to answer the inevitable question: "So Dave, just how did you loose your leg?"

I'd make up something good that didn't quite show me as the idiot I was at the time. screwy

Cheers
