There is a new 7-zip self extractor in it named "140UPD20Jul"
Download it and run it in your "140RV2CDF" folder.

It will give you the two latest versions of the 140 exe (140CNV58 and 140COV58) by updating the "EAW Versions" folder, insert a "NewHawk" folder into the "ETO140" folder, and update the "DirSets" folder by adding a "HawkWMSL" file. It will add a replacement summer terrain too- fixing a problem with Glide that one of the earlier versions had.

If you select either of the new exes, and the "HawkWMSL" dir.set then you will see the windmill and three searchlights if you fly a night mission from Hawkinge with a groundstart.





For the onliners at GameRanger please use these updates as I want to make the V58 exe the new default.

There is a "140InstALL" 7-zip self installer for newbies on its way to the OneDrive folder.
It will give them a complete 140 installation without the need to add patches.

Hey, Tony, I've had my head down in some rendering problems the last couple of days so I've missed the latest updates.

Basically, you know what my setup looks like. Do I need to download any of this stuff?

I was not happy with the start I made a couple of days ago as. Multiplayer testing raised some issues which have now been addressed. There are some recent changes to the 140 code which need new string files. The previous "Nettext.str" is not used, but a larger version "MPNettext.str" is used. It has the torpedo selection text plus additional mission times for multiplayer games in it:


The previous shorter version causes a CTD. The default one is in the "savedata" folder, and I am trying to ensure that all theatres that need their own version have a correct one.
Some of the string files for the Western Front were bad. It looks as though the originals were the default ones edited badly. In some cases a long string had been split into two strings. This effectively placed an extra string somewhere in the middle, so the reference numbers all increased by one. The old #77 was now #78, so when the exe called string #78 the user would see the old #77 and not the old #78.

Another recent change is having the "seasons" folder in the root folder, and a "UseSeasons" file in a theatre folder.
The Western Front I am working on has a "UseSeasons" file in the theatre folder, and no terrain folder. So it uses the seasonal terrrains. SPAW does not have a "UseSeasons" file, therefore the seasonal terrains are not used. All the exe does is to check for the presence of the file- it does not read it.
Just needing a single "Seasons" terrain folder saves space and download time
