Duke is organizing friday night games again.
This one will be a company attack in the MUNSTER-NORD area

Greetings, looks like I kind of "volunteered" to make a plan for that mission

So here is my WNGO:

Enemy in unknown strenght has taken the "NORD-DURCHLASS" (northern gap) and is now defending the IOT eneable RED follow on forces to attack further west.

So for us this will be a mix between "recon in force" and attack ahead of our own BN with the task to take/open the chocke point NORDDURCHLASS, clear the way and then push on toward our OBJ...again

Well as they say: viel Feind viel Ehr
But on the Upside, we have nearly 2 Arty BN ready to support us




My intent is to start from a line EAST of BRELOH and attack with 1x MechInf plt and 1 tank plt abreast under overwatch of 2 tk platoon, fake a head on assault at ZZ1 as a feint and then bypass to the north under cover from the arty. They we bypass the enemy ober PL2 and PL3 IOT attack their deep right flank from the North.
We clear ZZ1 with 1 tank plt, 1 Mech plt. and the engineers(attack X1) under Flankprotection by one Tankplt from BP Y1. One Tank plt stays as a reserve in the SA near PL3.

Then we asses the situation and decide how to move on.
Plan A will be to use attack routes X4 and X2 with fire support from Y2
Plan B , X3 and X5 with cover from Y3.

-pushes through BRILLOH at best possible speed under flank cover by artillery fire
-gains BP approx. at V -10 +03 IOT observe/engage along range 3

B-plt(tanks)
-moves as 2nd unit out of the aa
-takes BP a.s.a.p. at the base of rnage 1A IOT observe/engage towards BRILLOH
-secures/overwatches movement of own units towards BRILLOH
-follows D plt when ordered
-pushes through BRILLOH at best possible speed under flank cover by artillery fire
-gains BP approx. at V -12 -05 IOT observe/engage along range 2

C-plt(tanks)
-moves as 4th unit out of the aa
-immediatly attack towards BRILLOH at best possible speed
-takes covered BP and wait for suppressive fire at NORDDURCHLASS
-on SPLASH gains BP towards NORDDURCHLASS IOT feint an attack there
-on order falls back and takes BP at V - 05 -05 and secures our position towards
the south/souteast

D-plt(grenadiers)
-moves as 3rd unit out of the aa
-moves/attcks along the paved road between range 1A and 1 towards BRILLOH
-wins BP in the left area of BRILLOH IOT secure own left flank
-follows A and B on order a links up with engineers close to V IOT to form
2 lead units along logging roads at V and north of it
-on order moves along both roads to clear/secure them for the tanks

Engineers
-Follow C plt out of the aa
-wait at SL till ordered to moves towards ref.-point V
-link up with grenadiers there
-provide eng support(open obstacles/CIED and stuff)in clearing/securing the logging roads

FO
-moves with A-plt at start
-overwatches own movements from the SL
-suppresses enemy at NORDDRUCHLASS to enable bypass-movement
-covers lead units and flanks when moving on the logging roads

2IC/XO + CSS
-moves with the engineers towards PL-2 when ordered

from PL-2 on:

D-plt+ Engineers
-move along both logging roads
-destroy enemy picket units
-recce for enemy obstancles and recce a bypass if obst. are spotted(stay out of RPG-trange from them)
-on reaching PL-3/SA deploy 2 recon team(dismounted) towards NORDDRUCHLASS and the open ground
south of the SA as precondition for a tank attack there

A-plt
-follow on the nothern road
-provide direct fire support to D element ifs needed

B-plt
-follow on the southen road
-provide direct fire support to D elements if needed

C-plt
-follow on southern road as last unit
-guard CSS elements and the companies six

2IC/XO + CSS
-follow B plt along southern route

at the staging area (SA) we will judge the situation, and once the recon-results from D come in I'll issue a new FRAGO(latest) the general plan has been given in the WNGO anyway(should I be dead by then you should know what to do)
