It is an amazing museum. I just wish they had more room for the aircraft as it always seems too closely packed.

Who are we? We find that we live on an insignificant planet of a humdrum star lost in a galaxy tucked away in some forgotten corner of a universe in which there are far more galaxies than people.

A few more pictures from the American Air Museum and the conservation hanger.

This B-17 has just been restored,it used to be in the colours of Mary Alice,it has yet to have any squadron or individual markings added.

A V2 under restoration.

A Spanish He-111 being restored.

This is the wreckage of a Me-110 Rudolf Hess flew to Britain in 1941 on a secret peace mission.

I think this is a Heinkel He-162 jet.

Anyone know what that 'lump' is under the P47's wing?

Nice stuff. Good to see that they finished up the B-17 - last time I was at Dux it was lying on the floor in one of the restoration hangars with the wings off.

Is the Ju-52 just visiting? I don't remember that ever being there before.

Try and go on an air show day Jason. Busy but you will love it.
And there is a great tank museum right next to it.

You could always write it off as a research trip for Battle over Stalingrad. biggrin

Just a few more pictures I found, these are from the Land Warfare Museum, not from the same visit but from last year, they're not the best quality,I think I took them with my phone? but you get the idea of what's there. It is a huge part of the Museum though.

Thanks Chucky,I'm embarrassed to say I don't know,I always seem to get rushed around Land Warfare, next time I go I will start there I think, as it really is a great part of the museum.

What I meant was the last 4 pics are upside-down?

Good stuff even though it hurt my neck to view them dizzy
