Keep in mind though from the videos it looks like it has no real weather besides wind, AI traffic or ATC, so it seems like it might be a great limited area flight sim, but not necessarily a full fledged FSX / XP10 style world flight simulator, at least just from what I can tell on the web site and the nice videos.
Could be very fun indeed though if they did it right.

It looks like this one is available (if you translate the German to English on their site). Anyone have it yet? Interested in hearing some feedback...

Did they say when it would be available for purchase in the US? It would be nice to pickup in a Wally World.

It isn't that bad for a first iteration. If they are seriously thinking about joining simulation market they will use this version as a foundation and improve it in future. XPlane got ATC in tenth version for example, you can't expect a newcomer to beat FSX or XPlane.
I hope for some nice soaring there. I can if they wan't to compete with X-plane and FSX for my money Business Basics 101: The market doesn't care how late to the party you are; they care that your not wearing the same dress as anyone else (ie, is your product innovative?) and did you bring anything good for the buffet (are your features up to snuff?). Plus, the Aerofly team ISN'T a new comer. They've been doing this flight sim thing for a while... ...Just with smaller planes They're an RC Flight sim developer. I'm not surprised that all Aerofly has going for it is physics/graphics. An RC sim is still simulating physical flight, just not advanced systems, navigation, or communication. And that's exactly what Aeroflys weakness's are. of note, with their latter RC iterations, they began to offer full-scale RC planes (such as a full size spitfire flown with your RC sim transmitter) as a fun extra, so they've been doing their full scale flight model Homework. Also, Aerofly's competitor, RealFlight, has started offering "FPV" flight, from your RC planes cockpit, so this probably evolved from an answer to that that as well. Basically, this looks like a fun little side project for the devs. I'm not expecting this to go much further though, especially with flight around the corner.

I'll be picking it up tomorrow, and have the day off apart from a little volunteer work. Anything in particular anyone wants checking out.? Happy to get screenies, etc. Since your offering. I'd like to see some more shots of cockpits, namely the F-18. Thanks!

Anyone got any more feedback on this?
I'm not too stressed about the lack of systems but flight modelling is very important to me. How do the planes handle?

The airplanes fly like they are blown up RC models that can do 3D aerobatics. Have you seen any videos of the E300 or the Pitts doing a snap roll? The airplane goes from 150kts to about 30kts in a matter of seconds. It's like they have no weight to them.

The flight physics don't look that bad do they? The planes don't move like they're on rails, it's hard to tell without hands on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbs0myDheaM&feature=youtube_gdata_playerThe lighting effects are to die for though.....

I'm talking about more along the lines of aerobatic physics.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0iifI1aqWEThat's not what a real snap roll should look like. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gu3BfXKstJ4.. It just looks like the airplanes have no weight to them, is all.

That Tuckie guy has quite a few vids on YouTube. Here's one comparing roll rate. The Aerofly one does look a bit fast but tbh it's hard to compare. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6CtXSnN7Qs&feature=youtube_gdata_playerThere's quite a long thread over at a Avsim, people with the German version seem to quite like Aerofly as a pick up and play sim. The soaring seems to be quite well done, I might give this a go just for that. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/355656-flight-vs-aerofly-fs/page__st__100

This isn't a flight sim, it's a RC Simulator. Designed for practise to simulate RC planes/heli's etc..
It's designed for the user to be using their own RC transmitter. I used to have a previous version of it. Photorealistic scenery has been around for years in these sims. Sorry, that is not true. AeroFly1-5 were indeed R/C sims, but AeroflyFS is definitely a flight sim.
Undercarriage lever a bit sticky was it, Sir?
