For anyone else that suffers from FSX crashes that point to gd3.dll in the logs (sometimes occured for me when flying in very busy areas near major airports), Pete Dowson of FSUIPC fame has managed to find a way to hook/trap the FSX errors and avoid them using his FSUIPC module so that FSX keeps working, he is making this available even in the unregistered free FSUIPC version which many of us have already installed for advanced aircraft features (VRS Superbug etc.)

Discussion is in this AVSIM thread here:
http://forum.avsim.net/topic/353179-gd3dllhelp/page__st__475

Download and install of the updated FSUIPC version here:
http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66139-updated-modules/

The fix is in the unregistered FSUIPC version, but I will be registering my copy now to help thank him for solving this common and frustrating problem for many of us.
