Thanks for posting. I didn't realise the Apache was that agile.

It's also apparently quite mobile and hostile.

Certainly very LOUD!!!
Thanks for posting the video. I approve of the use of Orange.

You've obviously never tried it in LB2 with full flight model then!? smile

Did anyone else notice that the IHADSS monocles were red, not green?

Oh, and how they were shooting flares off I guess the weather in the Netherlands isn't like it's been here in the UK recently - very hot and dry! Are those wingtip flare dispensers part of the usual RNAF AH-64D setup or is it just for the aerobatics display?

This is with minimum fuel for the demo and no hellfire racks or rocket pods...

@flexman, the stripings are actually stickers not paint, so it could be used operationally by just removing the stickering...I doubt they'll ever have the need to do that in the 2 years they'll use this color scheme, unless WW III breaks out....or if the entire situation in Libya goes tits up, but even then, they're reluctant to send F16s let alone Apaches...waaaay too dangerous wink

The monocles are actually pink/purple-ish...you dont really notice it then it's in front of your eyes and the image is being displayed...maybe its just the antiglare stuff on the outside that makes them look like that...

The flares are part of the AMASE System, a bit like the Dutch version of the HIDASS system...Its developed by a Danish company "Terma" and has some infrared sensors in it and 2 flareboxes per pod...

It's been very hot and dry here as well havent seen rain in a while here (except from yesterday:))

To allow the HMD to reflect symbology but still remain transparent, a filter was applied that only reflects light in the green spectrum. This results in a slight reddish tint. This is also why only green can be used for displaying symbology and imagery. The more colors you want displayed, the more opaque the lens would be.

From pure agility scope, Cobra is more agile, and Ka50 the most of both.

Of course, cobra has less surface area and drag wink still gotta give it it's due, the A model is more agile than the D, able to twist and turn on a dime it seemed.

Yup, they carry pods with detection sensors and more chaff dispensers http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/2152/b060719blvh0.jpg and an even more advanced pod http://www.irconnect.com/noc/press/pages/news_releases.html?d=121414.

Gotta say that is a beautiful paint scheme.

You're correct! I have several boxed copies of LB2 stashed away in my loft, but i've never once played it! It's on my list of things to do before i snuff it! biggrin

The Combat Helo adaptation of the 70's TV show "CHiPs"

http://youtu.be/kpTdVPfWllM

PS: In case you were wondering, the crew chief at the end is giving the "hand signals" for the pilots to back up out of the parking stall...or something to get the point across, I guess...

biggrin
