Couple of screenies from a mission I'm currently building: 36 He-111 escorted by 24 Bf-109s, attacked by three squadrons of Hurricanes and Spitfires, 80+ aircraft.
Performance is very good, although I get frequent crashes since installing the current beta patch.
I'll double the bombers and see how it works. Goal is to build a mission with two full groups of bombers, escorted by a group of 109s, attacked by 3-4 RAF squadrons for a total of ~ 150 aircraft.

Excellent photos - are those ground explosions real, in game? They look amazing.
Angels Three zero says: would you feck with emma watson ? I really dont think you should do that....the result would not be in your favour..... says: hell yea

The explosions in CoD really look fantastic and, quite impressive, don't take a hit on performance on my system. No stutter, no FPS drop, And we're talking about 36 bombers each dropping 8 SC250 here...:)

Cutting edge graphics are important to me -- in today's games (I make allowances when replaying a 10 year old game).
A worthwhile experiment -- to answer the question: How well do the largest missions run?
BTW, anybody know: Historically, what was the largest number of aircraft that met "head to head" in the same airspace at the same time -- during the BoB? I know many were launched at times -- but, they did not always wind up in the same airspace at the same moment.
Allen, I think 200+ engagements would have likely been the biggest you saw. At least before "The Blitz" and large scale raids on London being met by Big Wings. If the title can do 120 or such it is enough to give a good recreation of a single raid against a single target with appropriate defense and offense.
Yeah, my system is a Core i5 2500k @4GHz, GTX 470, 8 Gig RAM, Win 7 64 bit.
Will upload the mission once it's finished.
BTW I just added another full Gruppe of He-111s. Now we have 72 He-111, 24 Bf-109s, 16 Hurricans and 16 Spits. Performance still Ok, although it dropped into the low 10s twice for a moment when a bomber blew up. Average FPS were in the mid-high 30s.
Couple more shots:

Nice Para,at last some one is showing the potential of this sim ! We were so so lucky that the Reichsmarschall des Grossdeutschen Reiches changed his tactics, imagine that attack on every airfield until they were obliterated !

Wow...that looks frikkin great Para and ~S~! That's what I'm talking about.....this will be a blast and don't waste a second sharing it once you have it nailed.
Keep up the good work man. I've tried these things myself but I'm too thick....they make my head implode lol. Suppose practice makes perfect, I was never an IL-2 mission builder either. FMB will be this one of this sims salvations, as well as clever buggers like yerself.

Awesome work PB! Those screenshots look great. Over at the 1C forum, someone posted a video showing a few hundred bombers in formation, with no detrimental fps loss....
I think it really is possible to get a proper BoB environment with this sim. Once all bugs are ironed out, I'm hoping to see some movement towards realistic BoB missions of engagements which took place during the battle.
Fingers crossed

A "few hundred"? My CPU could handle around 130 but when I ramped it up to 188 computer said no.

Yeah...but I just found out that he filmed it at 1/8th game speed, and then cranked the speed up to normal when editing, so under normal playing conditions (unless your eyes record the world at 1/8th speed) it's unlayable...
Still, that video PB is excellent. At this stage, 124 A/C with playable fps is awesome!
