So we now have people with both Russian- and English-language (albeit still locked) versions installed side-by-side (here for example). Any ideas about how to convert the Russian interface to English? I am (probably naively) hoping that a file overwrite could do the job.

You can at least for the missions. Not sure for the rest. If i had the english files i could give it a go. But i haven't received my english copy yet.

Well, there was a post over in titled "Russian vers FULL ENGLISH"

By the time I got there it had been deleted for whatever reason. Going by that I presume there is now a way...possibly.

maddox.dll file from english version is what I read before they nuked that post. I can see why as well.

I have seen screenshot proof that is the file needed to transate to full english.

I´m interested in that too. Startet a thread last night about that but it seems it didn´t get too much interest. Has anybody with both versions tried to change that dll? Can´t test myself since I haven´t got both versions.

Easy way for those who bought russian version and want to have full english:
1) Download this file (maddox.dll from english version)

2) Put the file in:
...Steam\steamapps\common\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\parts\core

So basically anyone in the US can buy a Russian version today and patch it to English and have the version without the epilepsy warnings? That sounds like a plan to me.

You have to sit through the (brief) warning, and in the options menu there's a tick box for the Anti-Ep filter (which I assume is dud), but it all works fine here so far.

As Iam a proud owner of the russian version Iam tempted, but is it legal? Could steam lock my account for that? Any experiences from other games anyone?

Thanks a whole bunch for this. I had just cancelled my UK CE version since UBI didn't bother posting it. Now I can play the english version until I get another boxed CE version from somewhere that isn't UBI.

Careful gentlemen, no need to draw so much attention to this development. Perhaps a more surreptitious thread title would be more prudent...
