Nice guide, but why do you turn on the CDU/EGI so early?

Nice guide Sim! ![thumbsup thumbsup](/forum/images/graemlins/default/thumbs_up.gif) You should put that into a PDF as I'm sure many would like to download it.

Nice guide, but why do you turn on the CDU/EGI so early? Same place as in manual;between APU start and Engine start. Why? Because it gives time to align INS. NP Nice guide Sim! ![thumbsup thumbsup](/forum/images/graemlins/default/thumbs_up.gif) You should put that into a PDF as I'm sure many would like to download it. I figure if someone want's to read PDF, they can open full manual just as easily. Also I don't have software to create PDF format.

For the Engine startup is it not R-ALT-HOME (for left engine) and R-CTRL-HOME (for right engine)?
But great guide...wish it had occurred to me to do a graphical one!

Actually I'd like to hear from Paul about how they do things in RL, wrt any streamlining of procedures. A lot of ramp start tutorials have you start both engines and then align the Nav platform. Seems a huge waste of four minutes sitting there with your thumb up your arse while you are using two engines to convert fuel into noise. Why not use ground electrics to get the alignment started and save the gas?
Cheers!

And here I thought I posted extract from "TO 1A-10A-1". Let me call USAF and tell them they should arm seat during exterior inspection. Just because it's written that way doesn't mean a local base doesn't have a deviation to that order. TO are guidelines, if you come up with a better plan you can deviate as long as it's in a safe manner.
