CFS3 has never looked so good.

How much are they charging for this patch?

I really enjoy the efforts of Indie developers (eg., OFF, BDG)

Great pictures! Thanks for posting.

I had the free version of OFF a couple of years ago. It was really a good game. My only complaint was that too many missions had me going out and returning home without ever encountering the enemy. Aside from that, I thought it was a great mod to an otherwise sub-par air combat sim (CFS3).

Is the older "free" version of OFF still available?

Great images! I always thought balloon busting was one of riskier WWI airwar adventures, no?

LeemzHQ,

Yes the older version is still available
Here is the P2 swap thread http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=37567

IMHO, OFF Between Heaven and Hell (P3) is a vast improvement on P2 ...well worth the money
Here's a BHH vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDC3DSzSMY8

In BHH there are no more spawns
All flights are scripted with assigned targets etc.
You'll find the enemy alright
And if you want more, you can increase flight density

Enjoy,

On the subject of losing wings (as in pic above), it is true EAW (European Air War)sim was famed for losing wings as battle damage.
Now we see that loss is a little more common elsewhere. biggrin

An absolutely beautiful sim, right along with the pics for Battle of Britain II posted in this thread.

BTW, did anyone see the Discovery Channel special on that "amazing" video of a aircraft landing safely after losing a wing? The special showed it was a fake.
An RC (Radio Control) miniature did the actual landing.

A full-size aircraft doesn't usually have the engine power to compensate for such a loss. Though an Israeli air force jet did lose a wing and land safely. The airmen were astonished when they climbed down and looked at the damage.

GUOD, has anyone done a ROF vs OFF head to head article or review? I couldn't find one on SimHQ, would be very interested to see and read about them side by side. I will be buying one, and I had settled on ROF, but now I'm not sure!
