The new hi-fidelity helicopter combat simulator is now out in English. If this study sim of the Ka-50 combat heli is a success, the A-10C Warthog and the Apache are next in line.

I'd love to hear your first impressions, everybody. The postings in the thread in the BS forum are very laudatory so far.

I'm loving it. It's great to fly the training missions in English. Although, I gotta say, Matt, uh doing the engine start in 45 seconds? Na. I can't remember a 10th of that in 45 seconds. Be great when I do though. Man, I love pushing buttons.

And remember, there can't be too many screenshots. Unfortunately I have to wait a bit longer for financial reasons before getting this, but I'm sharing in the excitement.

I'm sure this is a question answered somewhere in their documentation, but I didn't find it easily at their site.

If I install it now, and then upgrade my video card, does it need to be reactivated? I guess I'm just not sure how substantial of a hardware upgrade is required to force an activation.

OMG, I just read this from the Sim producer, Matt Wagner: (link) "From the time Black Shark goes into retail, we hope to have A-10C out nine months after that. Note that that is not a promise, just our current goal!"

Damn', 9 months to the A-10C if this sim becomes a success!

Ken, I don't know the answr, hopefully someone does, but you have eight activations and ten de-activations, giving you in effect 18 activations. I can't see how you would have an issue, because that would be a lot of years' worth of computer upgrades/changes...

Thanks Freycinet. The only reason I ask is because I'm looking to get a new video card in the next few weeks, and if it does use an activation, I might as well wait to get it until after I have the new card (seems silly wasting an activation on a few weeks' play). If not, I'd probably get it sooner.

How are the training missions, are they Janes USAF like or Falcon 4.0 like?
