Spent a wonderful few days down at the beach last week. Except for the ridiculous number of motorcyclists it was nice. No wind though..so instead of windsurfing I did some surf kayaking and fishing..

Getting ready to head out at Cherry Grove inlet...

A small red drum caught off Murrell's inlet...

Big fish on. Normally when I hook into something big I have a quick disconnect carabiner that I release from my small mushroom anchor rode. Once during this session a shark got wrapped around the anchor line..that wasn't fun. This time though I got taken on a sleigh ride as he wore himself out..

And I believe this is a Smooth Dogfish shark if I'm not mistaken..about a 4-footer..

One of the hundreds of jellyfish around me. This one has a large crab residing in the tentacles...

Beats working...

Good on ya, Beach! You seem to have the knack of balancing work and life.

ps. I'll be the first to buy your "Knack of Balancing Work and Life for Dummies" book....

I love the mountains to be sure and you can catch fish there to some extent, but you can't beat having the ability to catch from the ocean one fish that will feed several people.

That jelly shot is cool!

Piper, I think the ability to balance work and pleasure is deminished with children (sounds bad I know but until they are old enough you can't really take them along) or living in the piedmont :P
