Firstly, is anyone still playing? It's rather quiet down here.

So, the Puerto Rico is back in the dockyard. It looks as if you can obtain it this time without giving up your life to Wargaming.

I have bought a starter pack (you can't get it free) and I will grind the rest. I bought the more expensive package so essentially the ship will cost me about £35. However you also get the Tier VII premium destroyer Huron along the way as well as premium time, coal, steel and 4,000 Research Bureau points so I think it's not bad value.

I'm not too far off my first RB ship, which will be the Tier X Battleship Ohio I think. I also joined a clan, purely for economic reasons. Wish I'd done that years ago.

I support Ukraine too but I don't believe Wargaming are responsible for the invasion.

I'd suggest we cut the political discussion, as it will quickly get into PWEC territory. but Wargaming closed its operations in Russia and Belorussia because of the Ukraine conflict

As for WoWs, I quit many years back (just before the Chinese DDs were added, iirc). I now and then look back what's happening in the game, but just can't get around into the grind. To my surprise I recently noticed flamu, probably one of the most pominent WoWs twitch streamers, streaming a game I currently play, Genshin Impact - suffice to say, his chat was flooded with comments like "These are some strange looking ships!"

Same for WoT, which I started when I quit WoWs I am sometimes checking some streams (skill4ltu, quickybaby) - but with all the added grind for components (or whatever those booster devices are called), I don't see me getting back to that one either...

At some time in between, I felt the Navy itch again and got me Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts. While it has it's own flaws, I can still say that for me it scratches that itch pretty well.

I took a break a few times from the game. I don't like grinding too much but I enjoy the rewards of completing the missions/campaigns.
Flamu can be a toxic a-hole at times but his command of the game is God tier.

While streaming Genshin flamu is much more relaxed, most likely because it is single player, or in parts Coop if you want to do so - no stupid team mates to curse...
