I'm on 4,056 at the mo. And I am still playing so this will surpass 4,100 shortly. I just started a new run as Kazan, a steppe horde. My cavalry will rule the world!
I wish I still had that dedication (and interest) to play games. I've been playing World of Warships for 9 years and I've noticed my hours getting less and less.
Now I'm addicted to a crossword game on my tablet. I'll hand in my man card soon...

I see no issue here. PC gaming is just a hobby like anything else. People lose interest in their hobby and move on to something else all the time.

My 4,000 hours in EU IV is over ten years. Not many games have that sort of longevity. As a strategy game it doesn't ever feel old. A shooter from 2013 will show it's age, but a grand strategy game like EU IV has some immunity to this. And on top of that, it's made by Paradox, who expand their games like crazy with expansions and DLC. So even if you reach the point where you feel it has grown stale, an update comes along to draw you back in. And it's just an amazingly good game.
My top ten all time most played Steam games to show how that 4,000 hours stack up
So yeah, EU IV is far and away the leader, but I've sunk some serious time in to a lot of games. And this is just Steam. Falcon 4, for example, would wedge its way in to this top ten if I had tracked the time and maybe even be top. I played a lot of Falcon.

Cool, thanks for posting that. I would have expected to see one of the Borderlands games in there for you too, but I bet they sit just outside your top ten.

My #1 Steam hours played is Team Fortress 2 @ 1609.8 hours.
My #2 is X4: Foundations @ 650.9 hours.
My #3 is No Man's Sky @ 484.9 hours.
My #4 is Bannerlord @ 419.60 hours.
I suppose I am a lightweight.
I know for a fact I have 500+ hours in Elite Dangerous(standalone client), who knows how many in DCS, thousands in Falcon 4.0/BMS and likewise a significant amount in Star Citizen.
A pattern emerges on Steam, however. My most played games are either competitive PvP environments with high skill curve, deep gameplay, or open world maximum creativity and choice simulations.
Team Fortress/Quakeworld(who knows how many thousand hours)/StarCraft/Supreme Commander(thousands of hours between Supcom and SC)/Tribes/Mechwarrior/DCS/Elite/Star Citizen make up the bulk of my PvP time. I enjoy the smell of fear from my opponents as I stalk them. When I am not on the hunt, I like to fiddle with things in the other games.

I currently only have two games installed that are not on Steam so Steam definitely accounts for the great majority of my gaming time.

No worries, me and my girlfriend have countless of hours on Elder Sign: Omens. It´s basically Eldritch Horror but the dev changed the name for whatever reason. We also have the board game version. Pretty much fans of H.P. Lovecraft, books tabletop games ect.

Still playing and restarting Fallout 4 without finishing it. I'm still looking for the Perfect Play through "for my sensibilities".
I feel like I actually "live in the Fallout world". And, I'm trying to make it a "perfect world" (to my tastes and to some extent).
According to Steam during the last two weeks I have 32.7 hours in-game and 25 hours in the Creation Kit. I only use Mods I've made (dozens at this point).
I'm actually preparing for another restart from the beginning (1620 hours in-game over the years so far -- only a couple of "finishes").
