I also always wondered since many people don't know how to drive stick and I live in Chicago, what would happen if I get carjacked? I'd be like, "OK, hope you know how to drive a stick!" They'd most likely be out of luck and run off or shoot me, one or the other.

Last vehicle I owned that had a stick shift was my 1988 Toyota pickup. Totaled it in 2003 and I haven't driven a vehicle that I owned with a stick shift since then.

Did all the customizing myself. Lots of subtle stuff. Lowered, different tank that we changed from a dual cap to single, wide front forks, different bars and risers, cut fenders, custom wheels, special saddle bags that took some time to find the right fabricator, etc. Designed and prepped the paint, but a buddy did the actual spray. Added some black to the clear coat for a couple coats to tone down the bright colors. Took several times to get the stars laid out properly so that they weren’t just a jumble.

Put a lot of miles on her. Just sold it a couple months ago. I see it when I go to the buyers hangar. I miss her, but it was time.

Hopefully next year I will be driving a 55 Chevy Pick-up with a wrap around window.

I just saw this article today, made me think of this thread:

Yeah, the overall trend is very clear. Manual transmission cars will continue to be more and more a niche product for the general consumer market as time goes on.
