Hi! i have not been able to find any explanation elsewhere online or in the falcon manual, so i hope someone here might have more knowledge on the topic:


why was the cockpit of the F16 in the spectrum holobyte falcon, falcon AT and Falcon 3.0 all built around some single centre MFD, - a design i have not found in any f16 pilot cockpit image i have ever seen. I love the series of course, but why for all the importance on realism, was the cockpit not resembling that of an f16. Digital Integration made F16 Combat Pilot around the same time and they had a cockpit more representative of an f16's so it wasnt an unknown.

fortunately someone replied over at the BMS forum - the F16A being the variant of the old falcon games, and that central mfd is just what sits at the crotch, and the hud block is removed for the obvious limitations of how much one could have on screen back then - i had gotten confused as i had seen the cockpit of the 2nd pilot in the 2 seater variant and thought the screen there is what that middle screen in the spectrum holobyte games was
