Theres no way I could ever see Jayne making it through Starfleet Acadamy.

If they joined Star Fleet they would be different people - a huge part of what formed them in Firefly was the Unification War which their side lost.

It's amazing how quickly sometimes you can tell if there is any chemistry between the cast members when you watch a show for the first time.


When I first watched "Firefly", I could tell within the first 30 minutes of the pilot episode that Joss Whedon had "lightning in a bottle" concerning the chemistry between the crew members.


At the other end of the spectrum there's the Netflix show "Another Life" where there was almost zero chemistry between the crew members even after 10 episodes.

How about Kevin Sorbo in Andromeda?

I tried watching... really tried, but he's so bad. The hotties help numb the pain, but they never cure it.

I never saw "Andromeda" but the feeling I got from watching a few video clips and reading a few things is that the show was intended to be a bit campy and tongue in cheek?

Seemed a bit campy but tried to be serious as the series went on. I never sat through an episode and gave one my full attention--only listened and watched the show in the background as I was doing other things.

Sorbo though... very hard to tell he wasn't acting.
