Screenshot of P-51D "Feeble Eagle", 353rd FS, 354th FG, pilot Lt.Col. Glenn Eagleston. This is a stock P-51D-20 from IL-2 flight sim game but I added mirror, pilot, and canopy brace mods.

The floor and rear radio shelf are actually flat 3D surfaces but the illusion of depth is created by painting
the floor detail, frame and hoses in the 4k x 4k res skin file.

We really need to get an old timers IL2 MP co-op/whatever night going here at SIM HQ.....seriously.

Where did you get the base template for this skin? I have been looking for one.

If I still had my old IL-2 Discs I'd grab this sucker and fire it up. Looks good. Have they done this to any other planes?

Just a quick comparison to the venerable real artwork seen in the vintage photographs of the 354th FG.

Is that pilot available as a mod or is it something you did for the pictures? I would love to have had a pilot figure like that when I was flying that sim. Always hated that big headed thing that they put in the cockpit of all the planes.

The pilot in the screenshots is from the Ponies & P51's V1 Mod by Barnesy at FreeIL2Modding.
Outstanding work by Barnesy, we can't thank him enough. Afterwards, for personal use I made
further adjustments to his mod, such as repainting the texture files and repositioning the Euler
angles of the pilot in his mod file.
