Freedom of Speech = Freedom to be Critical.

Freedom of Speech = Freedom to be Critical. - 11/20/18 05:24 AM

Lets have a thread to hash out all our personal feelings.

EAW is a game. It has little commercial value, but it does have grand learning and hobby value.

What member had the had the sig "it's a game". I took offence at it in the day. I see I was ignorant.

I am a rivet counter. I think the phrase "looks good" is an insult to the mod that shows lax effort on my part. As a rivet counter, I give my opinion of others work in a critical way. BUT, as a modder, I have learned that "xxx is a play". I owe you nothing and you owe me nothing.

You are not required to like what I like, but when I do create something, I hope you will be honest with me in your opinion. I will try not to take offence if my vision does not match yours. I hope you will do the same.

Yes my sentence and paragraph structure sux.

Simple forum behavior.

Don't get offended by constructive criticism. That's why it's called constructive.

In fact, don't get offended when it isn't constructive criticism either.

In fact, don't get offended.

There, problem solved.

It is not my intent to be confrontational. EAW is large enough for many game mods. Game modders must be vigilant against theft of intellectual property, if the game or mod is not freeware. My paranoia of this is why I strike out against new people. I am not god, my words are only my opinion. Unless, it concerns my intellectual property.

It was pointed out to me that I use the text "mods" to refer to both game mods and administration of this web site. To make it easier on me, I will call all administration of this forum as god. My apologies if this has any religious offence to anyone reading my posts.

LOL!

I hope you're just kidding. I don't think any of the staff members want that moniker hung upon them.

Don’t deserve or desire that. Wouldn’t want that anyway. Personally I would consider it an effrontery.

Look, this is about keeping EAW alive by improving it, helping people get EAW running on new Windows OS versions/updates, and solving hardware issues. Hopefully we can have an enjoyable time doing so. There are a lot of smart and talented people here. Surely we can keep it friendly and light-hearted. There are enough things to get upset in our lives, so this is supposed to be a fun escape.
