Finnish Air War released!

Finnish Air War (FAW) contains a comprehensive set of files which enable you to simulate, with a fair degree of realism, the air war over Finland in 1939-1940 and 1941-1944, using Microprose's classic flight-simulator, European Air War.

FAW can be played either in single missions, or by using a specially written campaign.

FAW is a Community project, put together by the following people:

"vonOben" - Campaign files, terrain, world and target files, ground objects, skin and 3dz editing, put together and tested the package, project leader.
"Illu" - Historic research, some ground and aircraft models.
"Knug" - Graphical User Interface.
"Karel II" - Aircraft models and textures.
"Freddy B" - Aircraft models and textures.
"Edward" - Aircraft textures.
"Knegel" - Flight models, damage models, loadout files.
"Mr Jelly" - FAW Manager program and misc editors.
"Neira" - Movies.
"Pobs" - Some ground models.

A lot of other people have contributed and they are all mentioned in the readme file. smile

If you find any bugs please make note of as many circumstances as possible (date, what type of plane was flown, what types of additional planes appeared and so on.
Thanks in advance! wink

Finnish Air War has been worked at for six years and we have done the best we can to create a new world that works and can be built on subsequently. Geg started this project in the autumn of 2002, but had little time and I took over in late 2002.
Because of the long development time many of the original team members has left and the last years it has been mostly a one man job.

Some screen shots from the campaign testing:

Viipuri railway station attacked by SB-2 bombers.

I-16 fighters attacking supply dump in northern Finland.

MS 406 attacking DB-3's near Hanko.

BF 109G-2 attacking IL-4's.

A Yak-9 is shut down during the Soviet offensive in the summer of 1944.

Installation
FAW is available as a self-extracting archive and requires a basic 1.26e patched installation of European Air War to extract into. If you want to save disk space you can make a separate small installation (only 2MB) instead and change the debug patch in eaw.ini to link to the main EAW installation. Like this:
Debug Path=G:\European Air War\Files\

Important Note:
FAW contains cdf fils!
If you install to your main EAW installation the default cdf files will be over written!

EAW 1.28:
FAW was developed before EAW 1.28 was released and is not yet fully compatible with it.
We decided to release FAW as it is and update it with a patch for 1.28 when the new EAW 1.28a is released and a FAW FM is available for EAW 1.28.
All of the FAW cdf files are based on 1.28 and does work with it. The FM is however not made for 1.28 and there are also a few ground objects that are not compatible with 1.28.
The FAW Manager is not compatible with 1.28 online play and should not be used for that!

FAW can be downloaded from the FAW page on my site, the download is 180MB.

Have fun!

Nice, Per.

Re: Finnish Air War released! - 01/10/09 09:20 PM

I can't seem to get the game to work. I made a copy of my base 1.26e, ran the self extract to go into it. Tried the file manager thing. No matter how I go about it - when I try to fly I get crash to desktop. I even try without the file manager and get same thing.

Neither can I

Its only put the music files into my main EAW directory , everything else is lumped under scenario, and I get a straight CTD frown

Re: Finnish Air War released! - 01/11/09 07:36 AM

Hi,

Tested.

Fresh EAW install (just a difference with the original:I use the small "movies.cdf" file)
Patch 1.26
Tested .. and all OK
Quote:
The game is available as a self-extracting archive and requires a basic 1.26e patched installation of European Air War to extract into

Installed FAW (Answered the first question about overwrite with "Yes all" and the process runned to the end of the installation)
I verify and all files were in my EAW install
I see new folders created:
No Music
Readme
Scenario
Quote:
Every time you want to play a FAW single mission, a campaign mission or fly online you should start the FAW Manager (FAWMan.exe)!

Launched manager.
Quote:
If you want to start a single mission or fly online:
First select if you want to have Finnish or Russian music loaded.

Contrary at what in the readme .. for the music .. it's only a Russian music choice .. but no Finnish music.
So I choiced the Russian music
Quote:
Then select the appropriate date in the list “Click to load by date”.
All dates are written like this year-month-date for example: 391130

I choiced the first 1940 date available (400216)
Quote:
When you click the date all files are loaded and when you see “Ready” you can hit the “Fly” icon and the FAW Manger closes and EAW starts!

The files were loaded and the label ready appeared
I hit fly
In the next GUI I choiced "Single Mission"
A next screen appeared with "Unavailable" and also two labels (bottom right) Russian-Finnish
I choiced the Russian side and choiced one of the two planes availables
After the usual screen appeared and I go in the setting for just choice day an partly cloudy
I clicked OK and was returned to the usual screen.
I clicked Fly and suffer a CTD.(like Uriah)
After the CTD .. I checked in the Autoscripts folder the Loaded.txt and I found
40W.txt
400216

So the files were loaded correctly.
I will wait for furthers explainations (what I made wrong) or other players experiences before go forward with more tests.(want not screw all smile )

Re: Finnish Air War released! - 01/11/09 08:30 AM

I was getting the same as Uriah.
As an experiment we have now patched into a 1.28 install not a 1.26E install, and replaced the exes in the three "E-" folders in "Scenarios" with the 1.28a V19 exe which we have been testing anyway. Single missions are now working without CTDs for both Uriah and myself. There's no problem either with the 1.28 release exe.
I have my "eaw.ini" set with "OldStyle=1" in the EAW section so that it displays the three "picpln" screens rather than the two "Allied/Axis" screens.

Hi,

Yes indeed that's work with the 1.28 remplacement original EXE's.
Methink it must be a VonOben mistake maybe when he packed the files.
I dunno why all will run for him .. and suddenly not for the downloaders .. smile

Re: Finnish Air War released! - 01/11/09 09:07 AM

Hi

I’m very sorry for your troubles.

I have an Old Voodoo 5500 card myself and because of all the high-res planes and high-res ground objects I have never been able to run FAW on highest terrain setting. I thought that was because of my old video card so I didn’t mention that in the readme file.
So I always use a lower terrain setting to lower the texture load. The terrains include have high res tiles also for the LR tiles so the look in game will be the same.

Start FAW, select “Configure game”, “Graphics” and set “Terrain” to Medium.

Can you test and please report back?

EAW 1.28 can manage more texture load and can use the higher terrain setting.

About the Music system.

I was puzzled over this at first, but I now understand what has happened!

Finnish Music is already selected and therefore is the Finnish Music folder renamed Music, by the FAW Manager so they can be used in game. When I packed FAW up I had an empty “No Music” folder and because of that this folder was never included in the package by the program I used packing the files.

So after extracting the files create a new “No Music” folder and when you start the “FAW Manager” you will see Finnish Music already selected.

You can open the FM.ini to check the folders and it should look like this if you haven’t changed anything:

Jel's FAW file manager
Finnish Music
Russian Music
No Music

Re: Finnish Air War released! - 01/11/09 09:51 AM

Hi,

Bizzare .. never had a CTD with a "too much" high res textures
In some case I suffered "jamaican or Bob Marley " colors and also corrupted cockpits but never CTD
For now all run fine with a 1.28
I will test again with a 1.26e and a medium terrain setting.
Thank's for explainfor music .. that's just a minor deffect.

What can I say , it's superb!!! Just select Pilot career, select war and away we go smile The only criticism I have right now is machinegun noise, but I fixed that already! It's beautiful, a real labour of love and it shows. Do you have any further plans for FAW?

Hi Olivier

I didn’t think it was necessary to include all details here, but if you check the readme file:

* Corrected Loadout.dat, Sqgr43.dat and Sqgr44.dat so WGr21 are not used, since WGr21 was not used by FAF. These files are in the Data.cdf files for 1941 and 1944.

I’m not sure what to add for the Bf 109G-6 in 1944 and doesn't the 20mm underwing gun pod need a different 3dz model for the Bf 109G-6? confused

Hi Tony

I’m glad you like FAW. smile

There are no sound files included in the package except for the engines. If you want other sounds you have to add those yourself. Please check the FAW Readme file for details.

The future planes for FAW is to make it compatible with the EAW 1.28a exe when it’s released. wink

Hi Per.

I've just downloaded FAW, and it's a blast! Great job, truly great!! cool

I hope you'll find time to update it to 1.28a standard. wink
Posted By: FlyRight

Re: Finnish Air War released! - 01/19/09 03:33 PM

i haven't installed yet, waiting for any more bug reports to finish up but from what the posted FAW loadout shows is basically the 1.28 old default which its gunpack is selectable but not usable anyway...

so if your missing the gunpack image i'm guessing you got the wrong weapons.dat maybe from 1.2 which is different from 1.28 and/or the image code 0d for single gunpod is missing in the 109G loadout, sounds like it should be made the default loadout anyway as well as fixing the plane.dat to show those guns being able to now fire something.
Posted By: vonOben

Re: Finnish Air War released! - 01/20/09 11:44 AM

Hi FlyRight

I haven’t done any more editing on the loadout.dat file because I don’t know which one in the list that is the 20mm underwing gun pod for the Bf 109G-6 that Doc is talking about.

Knegel made the FM-DM loadout and weapons dat for FAW, which is based on rp2.6V10 and that was before 1.28.

So I still needs some advice what to do. wink

Cheers
Posted By: FlyRight

Re: Finnish Air War released! - 01/20/09 02:29 PM

if you check the 1.28 weapons.str its still the same as the Faw list above where a pair of gunpods as the Gun pack should be selectable on the 3rd choice seen in the weapons board anyway but it sounds like its not? if thats the case i would just edit in the single barrel weapons code in the 1st or default selection so it automatically appears ingame...then you just need to add the 2 extra gun positions in the plane.dat so they work.
Posted By: vonOben

Re: Finnish Air War released! - 01/21/09 11:18 AM

Hi FlyRight

I’m a novice when it comes to editing guns etc in EAW, so please explain as detailed as possible. wink

The weapons in 1.28 are also Knegel’s rp’s, so that’s logical that they are the same.

Do you mean that the so called “Gun pack” is the same as the 20mm underwing gun pod? confused

Cheers

Re: Finnish Air War released! - 01/21/09 10:02 PM

send me the 109G.flt with Plane.dat to have a look at the loadout, it'll be easier to fix than explain...otherwise to edit the Plane.dat using Morais' EawAircraft editor is really easy!

Re: Finnish Air War released! - 01/21/09 10:41 PM

Hi,

you cant have a selectable gunpod in EAW1.2, neighter in EAW1.28!!

You only can select the graphics, but not the guns! The "gunpack" is the needed graphic, but only with EAW1.28a it will be possible to select a gunpod in the loadout screen. Till then i wouldnt include the gunpods for the 109G in FAW, cause the FAF used the gunpods very seldom.

Knegel

I did not know one existed, or did you mean Jeroan's?
If so there are many values in even the old data files which it is incapable of editing.

Re: Finnish Air War released! - 01/22/09 12:26 AM

its Jeroans but Paulo Morais provided the data and it must of been one of the 1.28a versions...been thru so many, i quess i should start suffixing the lastest exe versions! so thats why i get those pods!!! but could put'em in anyway...btw! will need the FAW Loadout too.
Posted By: Knegel

Re: Finnish Air War released! - 01/22/09 07:50 AM

btw, to be able to select the gunpack graphics in the loadout screen, you need to edit the loadout.dat, to have the graphics available(they are in FAW) is not enough.

What I noticed before installing:

on your website the Fw 190A with the Greenheart of JG 54 was depicted in the slot with the Fw 190F variant and vice versa. Is this the same within the game?

Hi Fran

Do you mean that the picture of the 190A-6 shows a 190F-8 and that the picture of the 190F-8 is a 190A-6? confused
Ade did the skins, but it is possible that I have mixed them by mistake.
I’ll correct it off course if there is something wrong.

Re: Finnish Air War released! - 01/26/09 08:36 AM

That´s exactly what I was trying to say, vonOben Smile2

The fighter skin ("Greenheart") appears in the Fw 190A-6 slot and the ground attacker skin (SG 2) in the Fw 190F-8 slot. At least on your website.

If it´s vice versa in FAW, everything should be all right - thanks for your efforts cheers

I've checked now and the pics on my FAW page shows the skins as they are used in FAW-1944. I have also checked the skin zips and I used them as they were provided by Ade and he told me that the F8 skin (Greenheart) is from 1/JG54, because he was unable to find
a 1/SG5 profile for an F8 or any other type.

If some one can help with suitable profiles is Ade prepared to redo the skins. wink

Thanks Ade and thanks for the feedback!

Re: Finnish Air War released! - 01/28/09 02:37 PM

Hi guys,

I was looking behind my daughter´s rocking horse and - bingo - what did I find? wink

A photograph and a profile: "Fw 190F-8, flown by Hptm. Fritz Schröter, Kommandeur of I./SG 5, Finland, June 1944"

It wears rather unusual markings "Q9 + AB" and shows some other oddities, too - I´m sure you won´t dislike it, Ade WinkNGrin

As soon I´m in reach of my scanner in my office - still struggling at home with the "Brisbane"(!) flu - I'll scan it and mail it to you, Ade. It´s not that urgent, but I didn´t like the "Greenhearts" emblem on a ground assault plane, that´s all. I´m not that picky and rivet-counting as you may think but if there´s a chance to get
the authentic plane....

Btw, two pages ahead of the afore-mentioned F-8 there´s an A-6, flown by Maj. Erich Rudorffer, Kommandeur of II./JG 5, Immola(Fin), June 1944. Any interest?

You'll have to tell me where you bought that

Yep will have a look at the Rudorffer A-6 also,
it might be nice to have a few choices in FAW

Thanks for the detective work Fran...

Re: Finnish Air War released! - 01/31/09 10:58 PM

I have finally managed to install FAW with the 1.26e.exe and all bells and whistles without any problems. Flew some sorties in Winter War on the Finnish side and with Kommando Kuhlmey.

I must say - what an experience eek This gorgeous landscape with almost frozen lakes, forest and beautifully designed villages, those beautiful planes from different sides, biplanes, imported planes from different providers, immersive music and hangar screens, maps and intros have impressed me deeply. Only Knug´s symbols for the plane overwiew are missing to make it perfect.

My congrats for this impressive work - it surely was worth waiting band

(You notice I´m not mentioning the Fw 190 skins - the upcoming authentic skins will be the cream on the cake WinkNGrin )

Re: Finnish Air War released! - 02/04/09 05:46 AM

With Fran's help supplying profiles and unit info,
I've managed to skin a couple of more accurate Fw190
ground attack variants an F-8 and an A-6 for FAW,
plus a ground attack F9/R1 for the eastern front.

The A-6 profile shows a white spinner with black
spiral, but I've been unable to achieve this with
the V1 .pcx and .tra files....

The F9 may have had a blown canopy, yellow rudder
and a black swastika, however the profile I used
shows otherwise and I dont know if a blown canopy
has been done yet for the 190A series.....

Anyway, hope these will be OK....

Re: Finnish Air War released! - 02/04/09 04:59 PM

Great skins - and fast as lightning burnout

No blown canopy for the A-9, F-8, F-9, G-8 variant? That´s a pity - all late-war variants had it. Maybe some finger exercise for a gifted modeler...

A small correction, though - for Schröter´s F-8:

The letter code stays always the same - so Q9 + AB is always read in the same order without regarding the fuselage side. So the port side shows "Q9 * AB" as well with a small "Q9" left of the cross...

The last file from this page ( http://www.sandbaggereaw.com/AcesRising/llv34doc.html ) was use by Julio Junqueira for all his Fw 190A and F, inside this folder you will find all the files to do any Fw190A & F version with correct wing guns and correct flat or blown canopy... There not any rendering sequence problems but those old files are for "low resolution" airplanes...

Re: Finnish Air War released! - 02/07/09 05:09 PM

Hummm - I´ve installed the patch and continued my G.50 career - no problem at all.

Started a 1944 Fw 190F-8 career and got the famous garbled cockpit error - no instruments, no wingview, no personal flight data frown Managed to bring my plane home with one victory but screwed my plane 10m before the airfield not knowing my own speed goodnight

i have this error for the first time on my otherwise reliable neolithic rig, so I´m not familiar with a possible solution. Is there a file possibly corrupted or do I have to change my settings or my system?

Thx for any input notworthy

Edit: An additional observation - the spiral on the spinner (though visible on Ade´s screenie) does not appear in game confused

Re: Finnish Air War released! - 02/08/09 06:53 PM

Hi Fran

Sorry must have missed the 3dz file for the 190F-8. oops
You can copy the P190ap.3dz to P190dp.3dz and put it into the S-Skins 1944 folder, they share the same tpc the Pv1v1tex.tpc though so it’s not possible to include both in the skin folder.
Sorry for the inconvenience. sigh

I have also had garble problems in some of the FAW planes, but not the FW 190’s, try to lower your ground object settings and restart your computer. Not much else to do AFAK.
The FAW exe’s have the garble fix included.
It works fine in 1.28 though, because of the new improvements.

Re: Finnish Air War released! - 02/08/09 07:41 PM

Thanks for your answer, vonOben Smile2

Before I´m starting to puzzle around and maybe screwing it up - one additional info:

Both Fw 190s (A-6 AND F-8)are affected after the patch had been installed. Your initial planeset for the Fw 190 was okay - I´ve tested it without any problems. Therefore my guess about a corrupted (or missing) file.

If you tell me which file is responsible for both cockpits I´d make a reconstruction of my former install just adding the two skins. Must have a look at the file structure, though...

I´ve fixed the flight data problem. Too easy to be mentioned blush
Posted By: vonOben

Re: Finnish Air War released! - 02/09/09 12:01 PM

Hi Fran

There were no files for the FW 190 cockpits included in the 1.02 update.

The garble problem shows in the cockpit but it doesn’t have anything to do with the cockpit files, but with to much textures loaded. It strange it does happen with the new files and not the old versions, since they are very similar. confused

I suggest you make a test with 1.28 exe to check that it is working OK there. smile

Re: Finnish Air War released! - 02/09/09 04:52 PM

Thanks ,Per for your explicit answer cheers

So it´s the common garbled cockpit bug I have to cope with frown

So I´ll try to get rid of it by changing my settings. That´s too bad because I lke your ground detail pitchafit

Your other statement sounds most interesting. So the 1.28 exe can be used with FAW? This means standard EAW patched to 1.28 and then FAW 1.02? Most exciting because i like the improvements of 1.28 (Jel will be glad to hear this WinkNGrin)

I´ll test and report

Finnish War Postponed - 02/10/09 12:53 AM

Hello Norway, America needs your HELP.

I do not use v1.26 or v1.28. Having a Nvidia card which throws me immediately to the wolves of 7217, I use JIM, JIM2009 and JIMeaw. After seconds eliminating v1.01 of FAW, I installed v1.02 with its 1.02 patch. I followed rigorously the sequence of events prescribed from the land down under, but to no avail. I will "march" through Red Square. Sometimes there is silence, even it FAWMAN is told to play Russian music. Why? Of recent, before and after a complete XP (re) installation, I am getting error messages that I suspect are related to FAW."Pic Files Missing: GRND38H.TPC" and "P110CMEX.PIC" are FAW files and should have been present in the installation. In purusing the nine pages related to the product release, I find no mention of lost and recoverable data. I am hoping my 4hr (13Kbs) download did not miss a bit....

These two files are blocking JIM2009 from taking flight in the Baltic, particularly the last in the series. Can you help? Shall I send you a .bmp of my FAW directory?? Pictures do look nice. I would like the experience.

Re: Finnish War Postponed - 02/10/09 03:27 AM

Please get back to me as to exactly what is installed in the directory from which you are running FAW.

In particular:

1. Did you install FAW and then patch it to V1.02?
2. Are you loading the files by using the FAW manager (clicking on a frontline date) and then running JIM2009?

It is working perfectly for me so far.

Re: Finnish Air War released! - 02/10/09 11:36 AM

Hi Fran

The updated FW 190’s use two extra tpc files for the spiral spinner. That might be what causes the garbled cockpit for you. You can test using the old P190ap.3dz P190dp.3dz and se if it helps. wink

EAW 1.28 is NOT compatible with FAW mainly because of the fm’s. It was only a suggestion for you to test if it was a garble problem or something else. That how I have done myself to check that it’s really a garble problem. smile

Yes, extract FAW 1.02 to an EAW 1.28 installation and test if you like. smile

Hi 5555

I’m a bit confused. You wrote that you eliminated 1.01 and installed 1.02 with its 1.02 patch. confused

This is how it should be done.
There is a full FAW102.zip which is 180 MB.
The 1.02 update patch is to be extracted over an existing installation of FAW 1.00 or FAW 1.01.

Check this tread:
http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/2651661/FAW_error76.html#Post2651661
Here you can see all files in FAW 1.00 or you can do a similar list so I can error check of your installation.

GRND38H.TPC should be present in your G-Ground objects Winter folder and in the 3d.cdf.
P110CMEX.PIC is not a FAW file but it should perhaps be P110CMEX.tpc, in that case it should be present in the S-Skins 1944 folder.

Finnish War Postponed AGAIN - 02/12/09 03:43 AM

Dear Mr. V.O.

I have recompiled from various angles FAW to circumvent the fatal 7217 problem endemic with my Nvidia software.

To avoid missing files, I installed EAW, then FAW v102 (180Mb), then the Jelly-JIM material along with the Q file fixes. This resulted in an "Error 803"

I went back to my previous install. It was FAW v1.02 (180Mb), then Patch v1.02, the JIM family and finally the Q file fixes.

While JIMeaw works well. FAW goes black and then flashes on the JIM2009 screen that a PIC file error has occured. P110CMEX.tpc. Yes, it is this skin file that for some reason, even in a FAWMAN setup for the "real war" in 1940 has an influence on the launch of the program.

I reinstalled FAW v102 into an empty folder. I found the file in question in the S category folders of the Scenario folder. However, the copy effort was to no avail as the PIC file DID exist already. Even when recopied, the program failed to launch due to this supposed missing PIC file.

Do you have any other ideas? I do not give in easily, but would like to avoid the frustration leading to success.

Ende.

Re: Finnish War Postponed AGAIN - 02/12/09 11:28 AM

Hi 5555

If you have extracted FAW 1.02 you don’t need the 1.02 patch, but it doesn’t hurt either.

Hmmm, strange the P110CMEX.tpc is in your FAW Folder but you still get an error that it’s missing???? confused

If it’s a problem related to JIM, MrJelly better answer since I don’t know how it works.

Re: Finnish War Postponed AGAIN - 02/13/09 11:43 AM

Hi 5555

Some info I pass on from MrJelly:

Quote:

"The only thing that I can think of is a problem with selecting autoscripts from the Direct script table.
Some are designed to load other things on top of what is already meant to be loaded to give a playable game.

For example:
If you click on "40s.txt" you get a whole scenario loaded and it works.
However, if nothing is loaded and you click on "40-45Autumn.txt" a few files are loaded, but not a complete scenario, and when you try to fly then a whole heap of things are missing, and can result in error messages.

If you select by date there should be no problem."

End quote

So please use the dates and the direct scrips ONLY in those cases where the readme file says so. wink

War Postponed AGAIN - 02/14/09 12:15 AM

Hey V.O.

Thank you. I read a similar instruction from Mr. Jelly before he ran off to his Jazz Festival in the flames. Yet even if I another scenario date (right column) on the FAWManger screen I receive the same PIC file notice: P110CMEX.tpc

If I should bypass the FAWManager and go directly to the JIM2009 Apps, I will receive a standard EAW setup without problem. JIMeaw works well as I have it setup in the FAW folder, which was setup with FAW-180Mb, and then sprinkled with little "jimmy" file contents. There is some translation problem between JIM2009 and JelFAWMan or FAWMan is checking every file, from all scenario dates, before launching. I am tinkering, but truly in the dark.

Re: War Postponed AGAIN - 02/14/09 05:52 AM

Hey Doe

Later in a California evening...I went to JEL FAWManager. I selected the .txt on the left side of the menu. It installed. I closed the FAWManger going to JIM2009. No change and map was still UK.

I then went back to the FAWManager. I selected the options to right of the screen, particularly a 1939 date as it had been said the PIC File Error corresponded to a 1944 Bf110 camouflage. I close the Manager, returning to JIM2009. The planes were now Russian and British. The map referenced Karelia. I pressed FLY and was given a black screen for a few seconds, then PIC File Missing: P110CMEX.tpc.

Sorry

Re: War Postponed AGAIN - 02/14/09 06:44 AM

Hi 5555,

if there is a "P110CMEX.tpc" in your FAW(EAW) directory, it cant be missing! So i guess its not in the FAW(EAW) directory. Just to be sure we talk about the same, the FAW(EAW) directory is the folder, where the FAW setup AND the used EAW.exe is located.
So the "P110CMEX.tpc" must be side by side with the EAW.exe you are running(not side by side with an backup of the EAW.exe, or an other EAW.exe!!!).
After reading the above, i got the impression, you somehow dont run the exe from within the FAW(EAW) directory, or you dont load the files into the directory where the used EAW.exe is located.

OT: Cant you simply install Vista on your system?? wink

Looks like Vista is the only real cure for the 7217 error. On Vista are also no slowdown(fps), it run ATI cards and Nvidea cards(best with glide wrapper).

Greetings,

Knegel

Hi 5555

It would help if you could download this little bat file:
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?ki3kdzuzmt2
Just put it in the FAW folder and execute and it will create the "myfolder.txt" in the same location.
If you post the content of the "myfolder.txt" we can try to find what’s wrong.

Thank you.

I had scoured previously the file listing of Monsieur W.C. and found myself going blind as I tried to match files.

I did downloaded "The Directory" into the FAW folder. I also applied for a job in Gottland. I then ran JEL's FAWManager, choosing a W1940.txt from the left hand column, instead of from the left column. The JIM2009 screen did reflect the aircraft and geography of 1940 Finland. But after pressing FLY, I received a PIC Error message again regarding the infamous P110CMEX.tpc. I am checking with commissars in Australia to understand why this problem reoccurs.
