The commander is played ty Ty Olsson who is probably best known for his recurring supporting role as Captain Kelly on the reimagined Battlestar Galactica.

A lot of these scifi movies are quite good and original and they are made on very modest budgets. Hollywood hates that.

I've only seen a few scenes from the movie online but I did some research into the movie and found out that the actress who played the leading role in the movie suffered a horrible death. It was definitely not a happy Hollywood ending for her.

Yep, her jealous ex boyfriend lured her out for one last photo shoot. He then shot her in the back off the head. He then shot himself. Sounded like he "discovered her" when she was still a teenager and when she started to get a little famous she broke it off with him. Very said story.

Not that I would know anything about it, but it seems Galaxina could easily have been a late 70's XXX movie if they decided to make a "directors edition"

RIP Dorothy Stratton, Star 80 is one of the movies made about her death and I found it hard to like Eric Roberts in anything he did after for a long time
