What has always fascinated me about music in general is how certain songs and melodies are still very well remembered by societies today while other songs and melodies are long forgotten. Let's take classical music for example. How many people would immediately recognize "Moonlight Sonata" by Beethoven or "Ride of the Valkyries" by Wagner compared to "Tarare" by Antonio Salieri?
The Salieri as so wonderfully depicted by F. Murray Abraham in "Amadeus" was indeed right after all.
