Washington Redskins to Drop "Offensive" Name - 10/06/18 12:44 AM
The Washington Redskins finally drop offensive name:
Dan Snyder, owner of the NFL Redskins, has announced that the team is dropping "Washington" from the team name, and it will henceforth be simply known as, "The Redskins."
It was reported that he finds the word "Washington" imparts a negative image of poor leadership, mismanagement, corruption, cheating, lying, and graft, and is not a fitting role model for young fans of football.

If only this were true, I think I would buy seasons tickets just to support him and the Redskins, .... and I live North of Atlanta.

In this case two Washington’s are offensive! The capitol city and the state.
Only Washington the person is not.

The city isn't that bad. It contains some of my favorite concert venues.

I'm with you on that Panzer. I was going to say its unfortunate and a shame how the District of Columbia has treated the name Washington.
