Xbox Live BS - 11/26/17 08:54 PM

This is weird since I haven't sub'd to Live in several years with either account I've had! I didn't click on anything in the email but went to the website myself.
I had to recover the password, since I couldn't find it, so I don't know if someone had hijacked my account and changed the password. Recovering went normally, and clearly my correct email for that account is still on record.
I clicked on the icon for the notice but I don't see a way to dispute it. In fact, it says I have a perfect history. WTF?
Then it says something about communication elsewhere.
I'm guessing someone has figure out out spamming messages on Live and using innocent gamertags in the header so they get the blame.

Its a Xbox "Live" contract and since you haven't been using it, they figure you might be dead and in violation of your contract.

People shouldn't put up with this C rap.

IMHO the XBox people are just cutting their own throats.

Good luck with that.......

Pizzes me off.

Hope you don't just let it slide RK, don't think it's your DNA.
MS is at least as bad.
Google too. They're all flexing their muscles.
This is gonna end up in a bad place, for them, or us.

I'd like to give 'em a "CSI" show..........

And yet another reason why I will never buy a console gaming system.

I don’t think this has much to do with being a console. I suspect this is more akin to email malware. The name of the sender is just about the only one you can be fairly confident is NOT where it really came from. The Live system can be accessed by pc.

All fun and games until the same thing happens to your Steam account.

The reason I gave up Steam years ago. Was like someone else was taking over my computer after installing Steam.

Won`t touch a console system.

The same thing has been happening on pc’s as long as the internet has been big, long before Live or Steam.
It’s sad that consoles used to mean security in your gaming, but now they’re too close to being pc’s...including the weaknesses.

.

That works fine as long as you don't want to play any games which require Steam!

I'm a long-time Steam user. It's my preferred platform. If you tell it not to run on Windows start-up then it stays out of the way. The only thing I get when opening Steam is the latest offers and I believe even that can be turned off.
