Little 3D Print & Photogrammetry Station

My little 3D Print & Photogrammetry Station in my workshop is ready

I installed it in the closet where all my cockpit parts stored too.

I hope I could built my first 3D printed HOTAS parts this summer if the rest of the flat I moved to is ready

You fairly shoe horned that stuff in there! Not a mm of wasted space. Well done.

Is the thing on top for doing 3D scans of objects ?

Yes it is, I hope so. Not really tested yet .

I use my rotary axis from my miller to adjust exact degrees for the photo-shots and can also adjust the height of the cam.

There are some programms out there for photogrammetry, but most of the free ones are limited in the number of photos you can use.

I'm going to use 3DFZephyr Free, but it's limited to 50 images. I hope this is enough for special coolie-hats and some special buttons I'm going to clone for my pit.

Slowly my HOTAS and pit inventory reaches it's end

There is no more space in the whole workshop. The room has only 10m² and every mm of it is used

I also have to built a place for the cat, cause she loves the workshop

The second room has the same size but its reserved for the homepit

That is far to tidy. I have a workshop out back and a study in the loft and both are a bigger mess than that room. Love the cat though, what's it's name ?

We have two rescued cats Tabby and Champy who were abandoned when local families split up. Took the dog and left the cat.....

The black one in my workshop is Midnight and the other one is named Sunshine.

Midnight is more like a little dog, than a cat. She loves me and is everywhere I am.

Sunshine is very, very shy. She came from a sanctuary and nobody knows what happend to her before, but it must have been nothing good.

The 3D printing is the easy bit
The countless hours designing the parts is the hard part.

Yes, I know

I have done some 3D work for eechallmods here in the forum and I know how hard it is.
That's the reason, I only want to make some small simple parts at first.

I want to photogrammetry some switches and coolies (mostly to get the right dimensions) and than rework the results in an 3D software before printing.
Thankfully all of my HOTAS grips are done, so nothing complex to print at the beginning. Maybe later, when I'm more experienced with the whole process

O.k. the workshop is ready now!

After more than four years of cockpit building in my old flat with nothing more than a Dremel (never had the
place to use all my machines) and nearly 20 years of trying to make my dream come truth with no avail, this is
the first time I have the prospects I ever dreamed of.

I hope I could start again with the pit-building late this summer. Sadly I have to start from scratch at a
lot of things I've already done, cause the last one and a half year were very turbulent and at some things
I've builded, I have no more clue what I've done.

I also have bought a new system for the cockpit and I'm hoping that this project gets finished within the next
two or three years now. I have bought so many systems the last twenty years for this dream to come
true, only to experience that it was a nother illusion to get the dream of my life done.

Every time I started again, something new came into my life and I had to take care of totally different things.
The next time I had the chance to come back to the project, all of the hardware I used was absolutely dated and
I also had no more exact commemoration of all the things I've done before or it was obsolete, cause many things
have changed in flight simulation since the last attempt.

Now I see forward to my next attempt to get this damned thing become thruth
