Why is there an admission charge to a Naval Base?

I believe that's for the seats, not base entry. Seats are just a premium purchase at many airshows, but not required to enjoy the show.

last time I went, I had a bottle of deer park (1.5L) COLD from 7-11,

I was told to throw it away or chug it before entering.

I chose option 2.

Lucky you didn't end up with a brain freeze headache.

I'm trying to be there tomorrow, just working out transportation, As I dont want to drive and be stuck in traffic leaving.

Past years had Shuttle buses from an off site parking area. No info on that this year. So I may just take a taxi lol.

wish I was going this year, hopefully next year. A lot of shows are preventing outside food or drinks even from the media gates, we've had to toss out gatorade that was brand new... If they sold Gatorade then I wouldn't have a problem, but soda or beer in 90 degree heat isn't helpful and I prefer GA over water to replenish from all the sweat.

I'm in no way one of these Career Photographers, I dont have a $5000 Canon DSLR with Telescoping lens,

I used a $200 Nikon with 30X Zoom,

The Constant Cloud cover was playing with the image lighting sensor something fierce.

Blue Angels Terminated their Demonstration after 3 passes due to inclement weather.

that sucks, I was down there a few years ago when it was "wash out weekend". Glad I didn't make the trek this year.

Sunday they did a complete high show (rain in the morning, clear skies by time it was SuperBug Demo Time)

The price gouging by Vendors made local headlines though.

I read that on Facebook, sucks when they start pulling that crap. Happened up in Rhode Island one year too.
