If you have a subscription to Fileplanet, you can download it now. Best news? It has full AI support for both infantry and vehicles.

I played a couple hours of RO 3.2 last night and it absolutely rocks. The AI is now quite intelligent and they now will actually capture objectives and will also get inside tanks and vehicles and use them. Friendly AI also follow your commands. This is the absolute best mod I've ever played for any game.

Definitely. The Eastern Front had been neglected for SO LONG in PC gaming and over the past 3 years we've gotten the IL-2 flight sim series and Red Orchestra. I'm a happy camper.

Well Eastern, Western or Med this would be one amazing mod and will be amazing as a standalone game as well.

Althought I must confess I would give my left plum to see this team do the western front someday.

Sorry frown

You can keep your left plum right where it is - we'd only get on to the Western Front (or any other) when we have chewed our way through enough of the Eastern Front smile

Mind you - find us a REALLY good publishing deal and we'll see what we can do !

Hmmmm seems I dont have any publishers in my little black book of possible black mail targets, DRATZ!

Great work you guys! I look forward to buying the boxed version of this great mod someday in the future smile

Great work on the armored combat in 3.2. It's very reminiscent of World War II Online.

Panzer,

How good is the AI now ? I'm not really interested in multiplayer and if I actually have a reason to buy this, I will do it only for the single player experience and that means AI has to be believable, not like the atrocious AI in Battlefield 1942. At least I hope they are like the ones in Brothers In Arms.

Should I consider spending the money ?

P.S. :- Do I need UT 2004 for this or is RO 3.2 a standalone program ?

Yes, you need to have UT 2004 since RO is a mod and not a standalone product. I think you can get UT 2004 now for about $20-25 USD.

The AI is pretty good but it's not perfect. I've noticed that both friendly and enemy AI will often kill friendlies. But at least now they will be agressive and take objectives and they are very good about following the orders you give them.

Thanks Panzer.

I'm sold. I'll contact Chips & Bits and see if they have a copy of UT 2004 lying around.

Re: Red Orchestra 3.2 - 06/20/05 12:15 AM

I first tried RO a few releases ago. "It's just going to be Counterstrike in Greatcoats", I thought. On a whim, I decided to try it again last night, as I knew that a lot of work had gone into it.

Let me say now that RO 3.2 has turned into an excellent game. Of all of the WW2 online shooter games that I have played, this one is the only one that is even remotely good. It makes BF1942 look like amateurish hackwork. From the gorgeous graphics to the useful vehicles to the small but relatively unrestricted and realistic maps, it is very professionally done, and the makers can be proud of what they've achieved.

I am normally a rabidly anti-MP gamer; this one, while not making me an MP gaming convert, at least expands the hobby for me in a new direction when I need a change of pace.

Well done.

P.S. The Air Buccaneers mod for UT2004 is also superb; nearly as professionally done, massively creative, and damned funny to play.

Is there any way to get this mod on a CD for those of us who only have dial-up connections?
