Questions I have regarding Steel Armor Blaze of War (illustrated)

So the more I learn the more questions arise!

So here they are:

Q1 When you give the command "Commander target" the icon briefly turns blue, and back to white. Does this mean I must press this command after every shot?


Q2 What is the significance of the position of the tick mark!


Q3 What is the significance of the tick colour shading?


Q4 In the first picture what does the small blue box on the right of the "nav bar" represent. Blue implies enemy but what? I dont see anything in map view.....

Q3 The white tick seems to be the target you have a distance solution for, by clicking the center mouse button when the circle turns blue from red, I presume that means the distance is appropriate for weaponry, but the target may be a bush not an adversary.
The colour shading I presume indicates visibility
The picture above shows the blue circle but no valid target.

Q2 I notice when the tick was on the bottom of the bar, it didnt seem visible in map view or sight view.
