Anti-shipping

One thing that’s always neglected in WWII flight sims is the anti-shipping. It would be great if WOTR included planes like Swordfish or Albacore, as both offer so many possibilities:

1) Anti-shipping operations against the enemy coast, using torpedoes or bombs.
2) Mining enemy approaches (opportunity to have great nighttime missions).
3) Recon flights along the enemy’s coast.
4) Anti U-Boat patrols with bombs, torpedoes or depth charges.
5) Escorting convoys along the coast.

These things are rarely seen in simulators and WOTR would have a unique opportunity to be the first to do it right and exploit the niche.

That,s an interesting suggestion Eakaton. I thing I'm not sure of is whwther the devs can model a submerible event such as a sub under the surface. Would be cool though!

Il-2 1946 did it in quite an ingenious way as a texture moving over the surface. I have just finished an anti-shipping and ASW sandbox scenario for Il-2 1946 BAT but it’s just not the same without WOFF/WOTR dynamic campaign and superb AI. The best thing so far is just to keep pen and paper and write those AARs myself. Still, nighttime missions to mine the Antwerp canal in my Swordfish are something to remember.
