Hi all,
Sorry but I had to temporarily pull the two downloads for an hour or so (1600 hours GMT) as I didn't spot an anomaly with the upper wing - aileron inspection windows.

Both downloads have been corrected and are back on the download site.

After a brief lull during this quality assurance update, the war will resume, already in progress. smile

Without digging in my books is RNAS Squadron 2 a two-seater or seaplane Squadron?

Re: RNAS 1 - Bentley engine Sopwith Camels - 08/15/18 09:14 PM

In WOFF RNAS 2 uses B.E.2s and D.H.4s carrying out reconnaissance and bombing missions

DH4’s!
By all accounts a fine aircraft with a long service life.

Re: RNAS 1 - Bentley engine Sopwith Camels - 08/22/18 02:33 PM

Hi all,
Sopwith Camels for RNAS No.8 Squadron have been converted to the Bentley engine version (only 6 Bentley Camels for 1917 - intentional).

[Linked Image]

Now uploaded to the 'User Mods Page' (OBD Aircraft Skins).
Download size just over 53Meg - manual install so check the README file.

NOTE 1: No.8 RNAS destroyed all of their Bentley Camels before their airfield was overrun during the 1918 Spring offensive. Their Camels were replaced with Clerget engined aircraft. The 1918 Camels for this Squadron are non-Bentley Camels.
NOTE 2: To ensure the correct aircraft are loaded, all of the RNAS No.8 Camels are included in the download, hence its size.

Thank you Sandbagger and Shredward for your continued work ..Are you guys involved with the skins in WOTR?. If so we're in for one hell of a treat.

For anyone interested I can make this into a self extracting JSGME installable mod. I can tackle this tonight.

Hi All,
Looks like there may be a glitch with the cowls for Naval 10. Please don't download - Sandbagger will look at it, mod if needed, and reupload when he gets back after the weekend.
Cheers,

Re: RNAS 1 - Bentley engine Sopwith Camels - 08/26/18 01:15 PM

Hi all,
The original download for RNAS No.10 has been replaced as there was one skin that was incorrect.
I have supplied a single skin zip on the download page. If you have already downloaded the original complete zip, just download the single skin zip on the page and replace that skin.

Mike

PS: Thanks to Shredward for putting the brakes on.

Hi all,
One skin in RNAS 9 had a flaw, which has now been corrected in the download.
I've posted that skin separately so you can replace it rather than download the whole RNAS 9 zip again.

Re: Bentley engine Sopwith Camels - 10/09/19 08:25 PM

Thanks for these skins!

I was wondering, how would NOT manually removing the default RNAS Camels skins as instructed in the readme files affect the game? Would the old files simply be redundant or would they get picked over the new Bentley files? Do the skins affect what planes are picked for campaign flights?

Re: Bentley engine Sopwith Camels - 10/10/19 06:21 PM

Nice work there Mike. If you wish, I can send you a shell JSGME mod that you can populate with your skins and then offer on the mods site. PM me if you wish to discuss.

Re: Bentley engine Sopwith Camels - 10/12/19 12:25 AM

Out of curiousity (just doing a WOFF reinstall) did these skins make it to Platinum?
Just in case I saved my old Skins folder that has these and dropped it into my new install.

Flying RNAS1 campaign myself so it was easy to test. They are not included in PE but they work perfectly fine once installed.
