Use Logitech Racing Pedals as Rudder?

Is it possible to use the Logitech Pedals as a rudder? I have them on a Bodnar cable so they are a separate input device. So far, I've used vJoy and UCR to set up a 1 axis Vjoy controller combining the clutch and gas into one axis. In the Windows 10 USB controller menu, I've configured and confirmed that windows sees the vJoy as an Rz axis that takes the average of my two pedals. However, in game when I try to bind the axis, even if successful, I get no rudder input.

The combined axis works in other flight sims.


Has anyone successfully used vJoy to combine the axis?

Just trying to do this with CSL Elite pedals. Same process, same failure

Have you tried Joystick Gremlin? It uses vJoy as a component. I'm hardly a power user but I've employed it to configure my SopGrip.

Hi epower, thanks for the idea. I have downloaded it but haven't tried too hard to get it to merge the axes from the CSL pedals since I've already managed that successfully using UCR, same as Racingfan did. Windows sees it as a single axis and can calibrate it.

I think vjoy is the problem for WOFF. I found another utility that can 'hide' input devices from apps, so I was able to get around the "wrong input" error that the Workshop would throw out when assigning the rudder to vjoy, since it could no longer see the raw data from the CSL pedals. Then I was able to assign the rudder control to vjoy without an error being reported, but it still doesn't work in-game.

Do you have any axis merging going on with the SopGrip?

Just throwing this out there.
I've not done any testing to specifically prove or disprove this.

I do use Joy Stick Gremlin which does use Vjoy and includes HID Guardian to HID devices from Windows.
I am using Joy Stick Gremlin to have different profiles for different games.
I am not doing any Axis Merging.

I started looking at Joy Stick Gremlin to see if would help me handle two Saitek Throttle Quadrants in WOFF,
While they both show up in WOFF, they have the same name and thus cannot be configured separtely.
I was hoping to hide the Quadrants and combine them into a single Vjoy with Six Axis X, Y, Z, Rx, Ry, Rz.

I tried this many months ago and gave up.
As I recall, I came to the conclusion that CFS3/WOFF only likes the standard X, Y, Z axis.
As I said, take this with a grain of salt, my testing was not definitive.

Regarding the Sopwith Grip - It does not have any Axis - it has only buttons.
It attaches to a third party gimble which handles the Axis.
And WOFF does not even see the Sopwith Grip
The conclusion here is that WOFF/CFS3 will only see joysticks e.g. something with an Axis.
So Vjoy is used to create a device with at least one Axis and the required number of buttons that the Sopwith stick has.

And a Caveat, I have noticed some peculiarities went entering Claims in WOFF with JoyStick Gemlin active.
In order to Hid Devices, Joystick Gremlin must be started in Admin mode.

To Avoid getting off track I will not delve into this further here.

Stache covered things in greeter detail than I could. In answer to your query, I've not done any axis merging with Joystick Gremlin.

Thank you Stache. I was able to merge the axes from the pedals with joystick gremlin to a single vjoy X axis, but I still have no luck getting it to work in-game. Disappointing.
