McCudden vs MvR - 01/02/23 03:03 PM

Hi guys, I am currently reading Flying fury by Jimmy McCudden and I have encountered something, which doesnt let me sleep. He is describing repeated fights with a jasta colored in the following manner: red noses, yellow fuselage and each having different colored tail all Albatross V-strutters. Especially their leader seems his nemesis, one with green tail. I was looking for the paint scheme and found that MvR was flying an Alb with green tail, red nose and the midsection was uncolored - vaguely yellow. This was in autumn 1917, which is coincidental with the date the aircraft was used by tha Ace himself. Any of you skinners here can help me identify the cunning fellow or confirm, it might have been MvR himself? Strange thing is, I couldnt find anywhere a mention on who this ace might have been. Thank you!

That is quite a thread, with DSA, Alex Revell, Dr Bock and Alex Imrie (indirectly) all contributing. It doesn't get better than that.
Cheers,
