WOFF PLATINUM EDITION - EXPANSION RELEASED! - 10/03/1911:44 AM
SURPRISE ANNOUNCEMENT....
WINGS OVER FLANDERS FIELDS PLATINUM EDITION IS NOW AVAILABLE!
This is an EXPANSION for WOFF UE. Please check the website for details!
We hope to have a video released in a while, but for now you can purchase WOFF PE right now.
“WOFF PE” is a NEW EXPANSION for Wings Over Flanders Fields Ultimate Edition (WOFF UE). You need to own WOFF UE.
The immersion bar is raised higher, with its specially crafted improvements to add more excitement, more in depth campaigns and immersive encounters.
It adds well over 40 improvements and features to the base WW1 simulator WOFF UE (which is required). Highlights include extensive campaign changes to allow more involvement of the player in the action - superb improved scenery campaign interface improvements and much more. Of the 80+ aircraft in WOFF there are around 60 fighters. We have upgraded these fighter cockpits with new animated guns and other visual improvements. Sometimes when jammed you will see the gun levers sometimes trying to move and you can attempt to unjam and watch the levers unlock if successful.
We will have to make new sets of landscape tiles for our mods as the new terrain textures are brighter and a tad more intense. A small price to pay for all the new WOFFy goodness.
Disable other news mods and weather mods would be good start.
77Scout's news is in there and Buckeye Bob's weather -many thanks to those.
Hey, thanks for that - about to install Platinum (i know, remove all mods first!) - just have to sort out what to add back in after as I have facilities mods (Panama Red), cosolidated periods and campaign data (RJW), custom airfields mod, Inflight map mod (Nibbio_Ovs) - don't want to override any significant changes Platinum makes...I will have to read through and sort this out.
i believe Pol is referring to my Historical Weather mod and not my Optional Cloud mod. You will still need to download and activate my cloud mod to get the benefit of 100+ cloud types in the game.
Incidentally, I plan to release a new version of both my Optional Cloud mod and my Historical Weather mod in a few weeks. So as to not hijack the thread, please address any questions or inquiries about either of these mods in the mods thread.
BTW, super duper job OBD! Can't wait to see the new changes. Unfortunately, I am between paychecks and will have to wait another week or so before downloading.
Have to say, many thanks for the upgrade... visually stunning improvements, I didn't think it could look better, but it is, plus the cockpit upgrades... you gentlemen have outdone yourselves!
Ok, I’m blown away! Just flew a few QC Missions. The scenery, cockpit animations, it all really adds to the immersion. And when Pol says your pilot can now bleed out, he’s not kidding! Get on the ground quick! Fantastic job Gents!
Sounds like I nice set of improvements! Can you tell if the new aircraft in 2020 means one or more new planes?
What is the correct installation order with PE? I disabled all the mods I had in my UE install and installed the PE on top of that. I assume the official Music and Skin packs that I had installed should be unaffected by the PE install?
Does the expansions include changes that might conflict with the triangle and performance fix mod, or does it make the mod redundant?
This looks fantastic! I already know what my reward at the end of the next pay cycle will be! How does PE perform compared to UE? I'm having trouble getting WOTR to run smoothly on my rig (I have a 1050ti, 12GB of RAM and an i7 4790@ 3.6ghz) - sim runs very well until the shooting starts, when aircraft are hit I drop into single digits. Is PE running at or about where UE was?
Got it, installed it and everything went smooth. Now to just find time to fly it.
S!Blade<><
Let us know how you get on when you do Blade! I'm very curious as to how the performance of WOFF is once you get it up and running. Here's to finding the time to fly!

Yes agreed, the cockpit animations are superb.... but equally, so is the work you did, AnKor, to fix those horrible cloud edges from flickering all the time...THANK YOU!!!!

Purchased, downloaded, installed, test sorties flown, keyboard dried out, drool guard fitted. OBD has outdone themselves yet again. It's Platinum, baby, all the way! I am running with every setting max'd out and it is smooth, smooth, smooth.
Here are just a few screenshots from my morning sortie out of Stow Maries that show off the enhanced landscape. London seems to go on forever now and is rich, RICH I SAY, in detail. Check out those clouds, and that ground fog coming in from the sea in the London shot looking eastward.

When we have more information as always we will say it so currently wait and see what comes in 2020.
Correct installation order? With WOFF UE installed (any version number of UE), 1) remove all mods, 2) Get WOFF PE, install it. 3) Job done.
Can't comment on which mods may or may not work sorry but maybe just fly without first and see.
I'm currently flying without and see that is fine as fine can be.
To any of my airfield mods, they should work but won't blend in as well with PE due to the new, enhanced landscape tiles. Reworking the tiles in my mods will likely be one of my winter projects, if RL plays nice with me.
Oh man, this is out, the new Ghost Recon is out, Red Dead 2 coming to the PC next month...I need a bigger hard drive and to win the lottery so I can afford to be retired! Everything looks great from the vids posted!

Those are some stunning shots, Lou! Quite excited to add this on to the library. Can you believe 15 years later we are still getting more OFF???
WOFF Platinum scramble mission. Enjoying the scenery so much it's almost a shame there's a war on.
I really like the new sounds incorporated into PE - really immersive stuff! Maybe it's just me, but everything seems a bit sharper and crisper in terms of graphics. Great stuff!

Gawd Almighty...........astonishing work gentlemen....thank you!! Was bounced taking off...aroused from a Ho Hum complacency on just forming up as usual...and it was game on before even leaving the ground! Wildly exciting and far different from anything I've seen before here. Very COOL!!! I was so gob-smacked at having the tables turned on me (recalls shameful turkey shoots over enemy fields) that I neglected to take any pictures just trying to stay alive. The damage visuals...belches of black smoke and fire...are breath taking (literally), the fps is far steadier, the ammo animations are marvellous. And that was mission 1 in a mediocre squadron I was strapping on just for the visuals. OUTSTANDING WORK YOU GUYS!!!! THANK YOU!!!!
Okay, I must be the stupidest man alive. I gave them my money, transaction completed, and I can't find where I'm supposed to download it from. I'm pulling out the hair I have left, but I've looked at every page I can find and I don't see anything that says "Download HERE". Maybe I should just give up.

Check you email - the link gets emailed to it. If you don't see it, check your spam folder.

Sailor_Steve: search your email for sender 2checkout. If you entered your email correctly they should have sent you a mail with your download link. It looks like this....
Re: WOFF PLATINUM EDITION - EXPANSION RELEASED! - 10/06/1907:34 AM
This also happened to me.they were sending and I never got the download link. It was a problem with my email address. I finally googled their number called talked with a person, gave my order number and an alternate email address and got the download link and all is well. The number is 888-247-1614 for 2checkout customer service. Good luck!
Sailor_Steve contact support email address with your details please (do not post them here of course). Something like that would usually be your ISP has blocked the 2checkout emails as spam, or your AV has and it's in your spam/junk folder, or the email address is incorrect. Not sure who your ISP is but AOL tends to be the worst for issues like this in my experience.
As I wait for my ISP reset I am trying to recall as not “having” UEP is killing me. Once I receive the download email the link is good for multiple weeks IIRC?
And first of all (extreme) compliments to the team who have developed this further extremely immersive simulation of WW1 aerial operations. As one who was a Biggles fan 10 years before I joined the RAF way back in 1972, you had me at "hello"! All that's now missing, are the periodical stress-relieving binges in the mess (oh how I miss those.. ;)))
I have however a couple of quick tech queries.
The first is fairly prosaic. Does WOFF PE incorporate Panama Red's excellent mod to eliminate the infamous old "blue triangle" problem please, or does one still have to implement that separately?
Secondly, I was rather surprised that my AV software (Avira) flagged & quarantined the WOFFkeys.exe file as "malware". Anybody have any advice please here? Even sending a "cleared" WOFFkeys.exe would help.
This is a common problem and I know the "WOFFkeys.exe file" is clean in the download as I have installed PE with no problems. Put it in the exception list of your AV Software.

I believe PR is working on a new version of the BT mod Mike from a earlier post by him.
" Adger: I have already created a new set of my Scenery Improvement mods for PE that does three things: 1. Eliminate the dreaded BTs (which you can still get if you use the wrong combination of settings in PE). 2. Improve the Scenery Density all the way out the the new "fog horizon". 3. Increase the FPS over the stock OBD PE settings (magic).
It is being tested at the moment, but I am always looking for a "few more good testers" to see if the are any problems. PM me if you are interested"
Just downloaded PE and looking forward to my first test flight this afternoon.
A few items on the improvements list really caught my eye ... patrols will now be flown along the front (Yay!!!) and all the waypoints will now be shown in the briefing (more yay!!!). So much other great stuff to unpack.
Re: WOFF PLATINUM EDITION - EXPANSION RELEASED! - 10/07/1901:24 AM
Bought it earlier this weekend. The game runs smoothly even on my rather old computer, and the animated machine guns are a great touch. The AI is still challenging and you have to work to get kills and to survive. I'm glad this game has gotten yet another update - the longevity and passion rivals the old Red Baron series with its own long line of upgrades.
Re: WOFF PLATINUM EDITION - EXPANSION RELEASED! - 10/07/1903:34 AM
Just checked a campaign mission file. Impressive! Very quick loading of 100 active flights (barely a few minutes wait) from the time I clicked go to field until my plane was waiting on the airfield. The red circles in the briefing covered a distance from Nieuport to Reims on Ultra heavy setting! May 1917. Anyone know why there are two red circles (small one inside a big one)?

Well, I found it. GMail had it hidden in some bizarre folder, and no, it wasn't Spam. Everybody said "Check your Spam folder." That was the very first thing I did. Anyway, I have it now, but now I can't open it. It's proudly boasting that Defender protected my computer.I turned off the firewall, but I'm still getting the same message. Maybe I'm not meant to play this.
Re: WOFF PLATINUM EDITION - EXPANSION RELEASED! - 10/07/1905:56 AM
AAAAAUUUGH! I'm in the field for 5 days! (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada). But as soon as I get back! I, uh, had a busy weekend and didn't check in or I'd have it by now.

Don't turn off the firewall Sailor_Steve, just Anti Virus. If you get a report of a virus in Toolbox please report it to the anti virus vendor as a false positive. Contact support with the details please.
Re: WOFF PLATINUM EDITION - EXPANSION RELEASED! - 10/07/1911:01 AM
Turning off the anti-virus didn't work. It was the situation where Windows doesn't recognize the publisher, and refuses to install the program. If you click on "More Information" another button pops up, saying "Run Anyway". The only problem was that button wouldn't appear. I looked online and tried different solutions and none of them worked. Then, while looking around my computer data I came to the Information page. Much to my surprise it said Windows 10 Home. I was surprised because I've always had the Pro version. I looked around and then remembered I have the Product Activation Key the original installation came with. I plugged in that key and sure enough it shut down and told me not to fiddle with it while it was Upgrading. When it came back on it now said 'Windows 10 Pro'. I disabled the Smart Screen and installed the program. Now I just need to find time to play it.
I have played PE for a few hours now and I'm liking it. It looks great and runs great. I didn't think the flickering clouds could be fixed as well as they have been. Cockpit updates are a welcome addition. Am I imagining things or have the windscreens been made a bit more transparent?
Ability to edit waypoints and better waypoint display are great to have. Would be nice if the waypoint altitude could also be seen and adjusted. Good expansion! I'm looking forward to the future updates.
34) Revised the Slot/Rank Breakpoints and optimised for each Nation to allow better allocation of the 3 Aircraft slots by Rank.
Also, is #39 a separate feature from pilot bleeding out? and does it also apply to AI (I know bleeding out applies to AI from a previous response by WM)?
39) Implemented Pilot progressive health deterioration if wounds are severe (Progressive DM).
Lastly, will the AI turn back and fight if they are attacked while landing (and/or returning to base)? If so, will the rest of the flight also help out the one who is being attacked even if they are in the landing sequence?
I've been flying this since the day it came out and am very pleased. The new textures and visual range really enhance the experience. No more buildings popping up and disappearing after you fly over them, it also seems the density of the building has increased a lot. Flying over London is pretty mind boggling.

Many thanks to the OBD core team and all the many other people involved in bringing WOff PE to completion. I Can't imagine the many hours and days of work involved but Bravo for your work.
I have been flying for several days with Jasta 2 and RFC 24 near the time of the Somme and enjoying the beauty and having no problems.
I have a question just to make sure that I am not imaging things with my ears. I may have even forgotten that I mentioned this previously a year or two ago.
In Woff and Woff-UE ,just after landing and shutting down the engine, sometimes after an early evening
mission, I have heard the sweet sounds of music coming from some where. Perhaps the mess I thought. The music is quiet like in the distance and does not happen after every mission. I don't think I have heard it in Woff-PE yet as I have not flown many evening missions.
So please tell me,am I hearing things or is it real ?
To All and sundry ( and espescially the Barmy Offs ),
Been a good while since I posted, but had to drop my $29 chits and get the new PE as soon as I had the opportunity! ( Been Alpha testing a new Naval Surface Combat sim and that along with my telecast schedule for HS Football has kept my flight hours to a pathetic minimum ) I saw Hellshade and Stache's PE youtube vids and was mightly impressed! Well Done, a Sharp Salute S> and a big Thank You OBD!!!
I do have a couple questions and if I have missed them previously answered, my apologies... 1: What of the older WOFF UE mods ( particularly scenery, clouds and airfields ) are made redundant by this upgrade? 2: What is the progress on that wonderful 3rd party Morane or Bristol monoplane fighter that seemed close to completion last winter?
