Good day gentlemen

There is no way to really start this post off so I’ll jump right in. I just want to advise all of you that I thoroughly enjoy this forum and all posts from everyone on such a wide ranging spectrum of topics regarding Woff. From wish lists to the Dev team, DiD full emersion pilot careers, superb and friendly advice on flying tips, fighting, mission types, tutorials etc and the list goes on and on. Everything and everyone in this Woff community are definitely as I have said before “a league of extraordinary gentlemen” which I am proud to be an affiliated member.

For the past few months I have peeked into the forum from time to time, “off & on” to catch up and read everyones posts. Being off the grid due to the sale of my home, relocating to temporary accommodations until the condo was built & ultimately down sizing as the kids have long flown the nest, never to return..lol..well the jury is still out on this one... and some travel to Greece, Italy, and Spain which took up a good portion of the fall 2018. Retirement is definitely a great institution. That was the good stuff now for some not so great news.....

In December I was diagnosed with Prostate cancer. This kind of put a bit of a damper on the festive season but remained in good spirits, enjoying fine drink & food, giving to others, visiting loved ones and friends, staying in a very positive frame of mind. According to my Oncologist the cancer was detected early and can be effectively treated, via the likelihood of a Prostatectomy surgery. An MRI was conducted on the prostate and am currently awaiting the results. If the results show some abnormalities then I’ll be called in to go over the results and formulate treatment options and Surgery. Talk about living on pins and needles...lol..anyhow, I will be off & on visiting the forum, reading all the posts and from time to time adding a comment here and there. Those thread posts are all very interesting and reading them lifts my spirits which lag from time to time. So gentlemen when you have been called to the virtual bar by Lou or Sir Robert where the cricket bats have been brandished from their cases let us attend to imbibe heavily of good ale and fine spirits, Joust in friendly banter, frivolity, honourable gentlemenly comradeship, and spin tales of glorious endeavours in the war torn skies over France.

All the best! Cheers!

Deej

Deejan,

I shall be praying for your full and speedy recovery to front line duty, sir. You still have a great many sorties to fly!

Deejay, I know 3 fellows who have fought the same thing over the past 5 years. I spent a week hunting with one of them this past January. They are all free and clear. You caught it early which is the main thing. Keep your chin up mate! Keep us posted.

Yes, catching it early is good.

Anyone would have a hard time getting that news. The big C is a scary word.
But medicine is really great these days and you'll soon have a 'near miss' story to reassure other people with.

In the meantime, we're always here for you. Excellent reading for the waiting room!

Deejan;

Maeran pretty much encapsulated my thoughts. I wish you well and success in beating the big C.

Best Regards;

Deej, we'll be saying a prayer for you. It is a good sign that they caught it early. Keep us posted Sir, and there's a drink waiting for you at the bar when next you stop in.

I agree this is a great community and I enjoy also each and everyone's contributions. I and my wife will keep you in our prayers for speedy recovery.
