Back in town on the 15th and I can't wait!!! Congratulations on this labour of love, OBD. Again, many thanks to Mark Fairchild for helping to make this possible.

Will be ordering very soon! TBH, being a WW1 slappy, I have not followed WOTR too closely but will buy anyway. Which two planes are flyable? Hurricane is one I presume based on the videos.

Downloaded fine, installed fine, and started just fine. Any WOFF veterans will feel right at home with the interface. Rolled a pilot up (in JG2/Richthofen natch) and...forgot I needed to figure out what joystick bindings I wanted where. So the war is on hold.

I made the purchase. I only hope my ISP plays nice and allows for the download. There is no DVD so if my ISP doesn't play nice then the money sent will be a donation! Thanks, guys!

Heh, yeah! I have to look through the controls and see how to turn all that stuff off! Just wanted to jump in and fly!

Almost all the HUD info is movable or removable, and there are 5 items that can be toggled on/off separately. Z key (little blue read out top left) Shift+F6 Dials (bottom of screen) and blue text for systems top right. Dials are movable - drag with mouse. You can also toggle on/off/change the type individually Shift+Ctrl+1 or 2,3,4,5 Shift+T is the TAC, Shift+D turns off the message at the top. Labels can be turned on off changed etc. Most text can be dragged or toggled.
Also as a bonus turning most of that up will increase fps a little.

Thanks, Pol! I'm sure it was in the instructions somewhere! Just couldn't wait to jump in!

The controls configuration is a little different. I noticed that I can not set up a slider for mixture like I could in WOFF. Also, I could not set up the toe brakes for my rudder petals, the game said they must be buttons (same thing it said about the mixture). Another thing I didn't see was autopilot, auto level, and time acceleration which is real handy for catching up with formations and long flights for us time impaired people. If that stuff is there I didn't find it. Other than that every thing seemed to work well once I figured out that I had to make sure the flaps and wheels where up to fly well.
My computer speeds seem to be OK considering I am running a low spech vid card, but then again I haven't gotten into any major furballs yet. I still have a couple of days to go to get familiar with all the bells and whistles of these "modern" aircraft.

Thanks
Don't want to change this thread into a support thread - so this is the last tech issue I will do then I'll move the post in a while to technical.
Beard- Auto pilot is there, exactly the same as WOFF, Ctrl+shift+A
Time accel is exactly same as WOFF. Shift+ Shift-
Toe brakes work others have bound and work with a slider here. Make sure you haven't double bound some of these axis with other controllers.
Maybe you need software installed. You may need to tweak the .xca file and reverse the Scale="64" say to Scale="-64" for some.
Binding controllers - Important: ===================== If you still cannot map an axis on your controller - calibrate your controllers! If you have a problem binding an axis on a controller (rudder, joystick etc) it may be because you have a controller than needs calibrating so it has a full range 0-10000 etc.
In Windows 10 : Click once on the start button and type "Control" and the Control Panel will appear at the top of the search list. Click on Control Panel. (In Windows 7 etc just go to control panel and open it).
Click Devices and Printers. Find your Controller. Right click on it, choose "Game controller Settings". Click Properties, Settings, Calibrate. Follow the prompts. That should set the range correctly, basically hiding any errors in your controller range. Now you can bind an axis.

Here's a "Cradle to Grave" kind of video that shows everything from startup to a campaign mission flight. I apologize as I meant to cut a bit out in the middle where I am just time compressing to the action, but you will at least get an idea of how things go if you are interested in the game (sim) but want more info:

I did a lot of work a few years ago in developing the first set of dynamic reticles with AnKor for CFS3. One of the things I spent a lot of time on was to get the gun convergence calibration set up so that when the ranging circle properly matched the size of the aircraft you would get the maximum effect. Human nature is to shoot as soon as you get them lined up in front of you, but the aces would wait until the range was correct. Then just a second or two of hits would take them down. You can see this in the video where firing early had little effect, other than filling the sky with warning shots. Once the range closed so the wings spanned the ring, the kill was easily made. (21:30 to 21:50).
I see what they mean about the parachutes dropping like bombs.
Re: Wings Over The Reich - Now Released! - 09/08/1801:01 PM
Yes, as my accuracy numbers point out. However, sometimes fire near a bandit will cause him to maneuver defensively which will allow you to close on an otherwise faster foe...not that I was doing that here...

Just back from vacation and now I have it installed as well. On to creating the "Tools" downloads for WOTR. Coming to a download location for WOTR as soon as I get the info from Sandbagger:
"WOTR JSGME Mod Builder Installer Kit" "WOTR JSGMEModEnablerfromJoneSoft" "WOTRUserFilesBackupProgram" "UI_xml Custom font size mod"
