[Poll] Entente or Central powers? Who do you fly for?

Sorry if this has been asked before, i didn't see the post. So I've been back flying since UE was released and I've noticed that I seem to be flying Entente (British squadrons) almost exclusively, apart from the occasional quick combat I've not given ol Jerry a good go yet. I guess I've been reluctant to give up my Pup or Fee

So i was wondering, who do you prefer to fly for? Also Whats your favorite aircraft on both sides to fly?

Voted. I've always been a Sopwith Pup guy but I've learned to enjoy the Strutter too. Never thought I'd be a two seater guy! The Brisfit is great fun against the Alb DIIIs and earlier. I must say though that I've been flying an Albatross DI campaign and I just love the rumble of her engines. I can see why Olham enjoy them so much.

Yeah I was giving the biff a fly around the past few days, what an utter joy to fly, was surprised to see how well a 2 seater could dogfight, tonnes of fun!!

I agree about the alby, thats why i was saying i fly them a little in QC, I love the sound of that engine and enjoy tearing about in free flight!

My favs have always been the N17 and SE5 series since way back in the Red Baron days... Mannock and I probably would have gotten along famously...probably would have ended up the same way as well, based on my tendency to crawl into the back seat of the recce craft I am shooting at!

Hmmmmmm.....should there be an option for 50/50?

It is so strange that I never did fly Entente in RB3d, FE, WoW, and OFF3, only did try some strange looking planes like the DH2. Only in Woff it is 99% Entente.
Another point is that mostly I do fly 2seaters.

S.E.5a - the perfect machine for me and surprisingly I enjoy very mych flying in Pfalz DIII when I'm in Luftstreitkrafte

50% Albatros types (more challenging if you ask me, specially May 1917 onwards), 20% Pup, Tripes, Se5s, maybe a Nieuport two,..very enjoyable and easier less frustrating,(but less robust and prone to break midair!)..10% Dr.1 (love it), then DVII to feel I am the master of the war. I´d say if you master those Albatros tanks you are proficient to fly everything else (except those evil saddistic Eindekkers,...).

Love the Pup, Tripe, Camel and DH2. Have flown most but these are my go to machines. The reason I like Entente is the colorful Hun machines are just fun to chase!

Unfortunately, my option isn't listed... I fly both on a roughly equal basis. I usually have only one pilot career going at any one time. I like to put my mind in an Entente or Central mode and stay with it until 'DiD'... What side I choose depends on my mood when I create a new career.

The only time I use Quick Combat is to test some aspect of the game or my system, try out a plane that I haven't flown much or to demonstrate the sim to someone who has never seen it.

I fly mostly for Germany, but every now and then I like to amuse myself also with Entente careers.

Favourite planes? Fokker D.VII and DFW C.V for Germany, Nieuport 17 and maybe Breguet 14 for Entente.

Se5 and N17 mainly for the Allies. Little Sopwith Camel, N28, and Brisfit. Always have an Fee career ready to go but never get around to it.

For the Germans the Alb DIII but getting much more Dr.1 time in with UE.

If pressed probably 60/40 numbers wise for the Allies in stick time. Wish there was more time in the day!

I fly both equally since I have only two pilot campaigns right now in the Centenary DID, one German and one British.

N-10, N17, Albatross Types, Sop 1 1/2 er, SE, SE 5a, Spad XIII.

Probably about 80/20 Entente for me. For Germany almost always the Pfalz DIII. For Entente some Pups and Tripes, but primarily all the Nieuports, including the N28 for USAS. And pretty much equally French and British. My favorite is the N17bis, only available in a couple of units, but I finally get two mg's for some equalizing firepower. Problem with the Nieuports is that if you keep advancing and stay alive you end up with SPADs. Then it's time for me to virtually transfer myself to training new pilots and start a new career. So in opposite of the SPADs visibility, or lack of, I always have a DH2 pilot going. Since Real is Real but not really real and I'm not freezing my wazoo off, the DH2 is so fun since I can actually see, plus I like the the look of my fellow flight members tooling alongside in our funky looking stingbags, (not of the Fairey Swordfish variety). The Camel is still my all-time favorite followed closely by the Dr.1. I like my scouts turny.

However, like JJJ65, I'm a recce/bomber jockey at heart and will fly any two-seater that can carry a camera and a load of explosives.

Entente seems to be the most popular anyway :-) Poor ol' jerries colourful kites must not be colourful enough haha

I fly a career for one country, then die. Then I go to the next country..... There are just more Entente.

I'm split around 50/50. I always fly fighters and usually, but not always, in Flanders. My preference is to fly German, and yes, part of the appeal are the beautiful skins. However, the Germans are usually at a great disadvantage so I fly them less often than I would otherwise.

From Aug-Sep 16 through the spring of 17 they have a small advantage, or maybe are about even. However, prior to that are the dreadful Eindeckers. They may have been a scourge to unarmed enemies but they are totally outclassed by anything else. From spring 17 through the end of the war the Germans are always heavily outnumbered. And the British clearly have the best planes overall, particularly during the last year and a half of the war (with some exceptions of course). So flying inferior planes against many more enemies makes for a less appealing career.

Or for a more appealing challenge?

I just love the beauty of the Pfalz D-IIIa! If I can get a pilot to survive AND score then the experience is sweeter. As a Fokker Drl pilot it is very much fun to take on a flight of five EA, get one or two and watch the others eventually fly away... those cowards! The Hun machines are so very pretty, too! I'd paint my Drl pink just to spite those chicken Tommies and Frogs! Theirs squad mates would say 'look... that guy in that pink bird just whooped your @$$!' and their morale would get kicked in the teeth!

Although I fly entente (SE5) mostly in the DiD campaign for the last year or so. I frequently fly central powers (Alb and Pfalz) in QC because I just love their lines and the sound of that engine and the stable platform.

For the purpose of the survey I would say I'm 50/50 but lack of flying time and the demands of the DiD foced me into a weighted entente scheme.

Right now, I'm flying for the Germans. I joined Jasta 15 in Dec, 1915. I'm going to follow Ernst Udet through the entire war. I'll just create a new pilot in the same month I die in, skip forward to the day I died, and continue on.

N-10 ( a steady machine) SE 5 series and Spads. As for the Central powers, Albatross D-II and D-1 are mighty fine machines. Two seats: The AV or the 1 1/2 er are great flyers.

Still being quite a WOFF newbie, I've been flying for the RFC in 1915 as I wanted to start with an early war career.

Have only flown the BE2c so far as my request to transfer to 6 Squadron and their FE2b's was turned down.

You could use Robert's back up utility and simply restore him...? Just a thought

That's only part of it, Hellshade - the whole design, the look of them...
Especially the sequiplane versions are true beauties IMHO (like the Spitfire was in WW2).

I fly moslty Central Powers, and almost only Albatros versions.
Not because they were so good - there were better fighters - but for their looks.
If I must fall (and that is the usual proceedure sooner or later) I wanna die surrounded by beauty.

On the British side I love both the Sopwith Pup (a butterfly of an aircraft, a true joyride!),
and the Scout Experiemntal 5a. Many say, that craft was ugly as hell -
I think it has a veryown special British sexyness to it.

Well, for an aircraft that has terrible esthetic appeal, it sure flies nice, as long as it has the Woolsley in it!

Oh... if I fly two-holers then it's just gotta be the Hannover! That thing flies great and looks uber cool with its biplane tail. I like it so much I'm currently building an RC 1/6 scale version. I'm gonna make up some lozenge camo fabric for it and everything to have it ready for some Dawn Patrols in 2018. I'm sure they will abound it being a hundred year anniversary for the end of The Great War!

The S.E.5a should have been nick-named, the fire breathing dragon. It will swoop in and light you up, but if I had the choice of only one it would be the Tripe with twin cannons. I can kill anything in the sky with that machine, and do so without working up a sweat.

Now, come on - you must admit it has something 'sexy' about it - much more than a Camel (could ever have for me)...

Kidding me? That is one sexy looking aircraft. It's not a Bristol F.2b, but I dig the "long nose" look. Remind me of the old Riviera, Grand Prix, or Cadillacs we used to see before cars went short and boxy.

As I said, the Tripe would be the plane of choice, but only due to functionality. The S.E.5a is flat out beautious.
