Color / Gamma Settings for WOFF

Color / Gamma Settings for WOFF - 12/31/15 01:29 PM

Hey guys, I've changed up some of the gamma / contrast settings in WOFF trying to get some darker shadows but without making Winders amazing ground scenery get too dark. What do you guys think about the following screenshots as far as a natural balance is concerned? Don't be afraid to say you hate it. I'm looking for honest opinions please.

Thanks Banjoman. Here's a few more against varying backgrounds. I'm messing with the Desktop Control Panel colors for Nvidia and finding I can get pretty good results without needing SweetFX at all, so no frame rate cost.

That is always my advice, but first step, calibrate your monitor. There is no need for another piece of software that is consuming CPU-load/FPS and can causes failures.

Keep your system clean and lean. In my case I have an only for WoFF/MAW Win7-64 HD-boot, nothing else installed, no virus software, no internet. Keep your system Lean, it does not need all those free defrag, cleaning software, performance tools, it is all included in Windows.

The bell is ringing I should leave, this is my last posting for 2015. Thanks OBD for keeping WW1 alive!!!! Thanks You all for helping me.
HAPPY 2016!!!!

I feel the green ground in the first few pics are a little washed out and I would like to see a little more darker green, but that could be due to haze. Of course it is hard to be sure with only a few pics because time of day and sunlight conditions greatly affect the look. Just my thoughts!

I love it! Been looking for something like this for ages. Don't want to deal w/ Sweet FX and would love to have a touch of contrast and gamma on screen. I'm a DP (fancy talk for a cameraman...Director of Photography....pretentious, but there it is....shooting mostly doc/tv shows)....and this is the default position we try to nudge our cameras to....a bit more contrast and a bit more gamma. The saturated colors are more pleasing on a visceral level and the contrast makes the focus a bit....well, more focused...on what's in front of your eye. Just makes the picture "pop" a bit. The ground stuff is amazingly cool and fabulously modeled...but our real deal in in the air....so if the ground suffers a bit (which I don't believe it does from your pix) so be it. Bring it on!!!! Pls......love to have your settings. Still aware I don't know how to screw around w/ my Apple monitor.....27", very pretty. I'd value any input from any of you....Thx, and Happy New Year WoFFers!!!!!!

Hell.....these are lovely.....in game settings someplace or monitor settings?

Its actually changes to the Desktop Control Panel for Nvidia. I use default for everything else, but then switch to these when I want to play WOFF. Menus are slightly darker but no big deal. Try it out and let me know what you think. No performance hit at all.

H-thx for the inspiration to explore. Found the ATI console...no biggie really....just never looked. Poodled around w/ the contrast/gamma curves and found the Devs had made the game....as it shows up on my screen pretty perfect. The only change I settled with was to alter the color temp of the monitor output a shade....6500 to 6000....making it slightly warmer. Every monitor will be different and no one setting will work with all our rigs.....but your post is a great push to meddle w/ a few things we can alter to make our own experience better w/out corrupting any original WoFF files. Fun....thx

thumbsup On the outside shots, but the cockpits seem too dark. Greens due seem washed out. The rest is outstanding eye-candy reading
