How stable is this?

I only ask because the last couple of times I've fired it up it has crashed.I was practising landing and manoeuvring around the station when my frames would suddenly drop and then the game became unresponsive.

I did the file verification thing but I'm wondering if there are any settings I need to pay attention to.

It is still not optimized so it's stability is a crapshoot based on your hardware and drivers.

I've never had it crash on me but I know people who cant play because of all the crashes.

The frame drop issue is server side. The longer you play the more frames you lose because of the way the server tracks things. That is "supposed" to be fixed in 3.0 in the next few months. But we will have to wait and see.

As of 2.6 they have changed the game engine from the CIG licenced CryEngine to Amazon's Licenced CryEngine called Lumberyard

Reports from people seem very positive and the game is running a lot more stable now, still not optimised but the backend server connections are supposed to be a lot more stable giving hours of play time without crashing.
