New TFS 5.0 Alpha testing battle - Halfaya Raid!

Latest Alpha testing release features new and constantly improving special effects and features, including dust, explosions and improved AI.

The explosions look great, and we are very happy with the look and progression of the dust effects.

All designed to further increase realism to the simulation.

All components showcased are still a WIP, and will be further improved on release. They are all coming along extremely well.

Ground assets with have desert paint schemes on release.

Hope you also enjoy the post production 'Newreel' effects at the start and end of the video.

IL-2 Cliffs of Dover Blitz is a realistic WW2 flight simulation based on the Battle of Britain. The forthcoming expansion will introduce the North African front and will take in the period December 1940 to June 1942.

Fantastic looking!

A proper battle going on there... looks great and sounds are great too!

The dust effects look incredible. When the planes initially start the engine(which we didn't see here), there should be a good sized dust up that would die down as you wait at idle to warm the engine. When the plane starts its' initial taxy rollout(which we did see here) there should be another good size dust up(it didn't happen until 2 seconds after initial taxy roll) until rolling good and throttle cut back to normal taxy speed. It looks like your effects guy has the taxying medium dust up perfect, but the initial throttling up to start moving big dust up is missing. It is Alpha, I get it, this is just an FYI from a fan that loves the small details. IT LOOKS REALLY GOOD GENTS. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK. The Palm trees look Fabulous!
Thanks so much for the Martlet Love as we haven't seen to much of her before the last couple of weeks. The P40, outstanding! The Wimpy, big lumbering brutes! Wonderful. The sounds of the AA, Very realistic to what I would guess sounds correct. The explosion effects look really good. I don't recall having seen a plane on fire while still flying lately? Maybe I have forgotten, but if not, how is that looking?
Anyway, GO TFS, I am looking forward the the African Campaign so much. Can't wait. I am also looking forward to the improvements in the BOB map. Cannot wait to hear the announcement that TFS is going into Beta with 5.0! That will be an exciting day.

I'm likeing the dust effect, very realistic looking

Thanks Blade, ATAG Ribbs, one of our Alpha testers made this video. This is his first ever video creation. The original video goes for 17 mins. A massive body of work to set it up. Ribbs did a really great job.
