SABOW Install - 01/03/15 02:56 AM

I just installed SABOW on a System7 (x64). Using a Gamersgate setup, I installed the game which is functional. However, the directory does show a 'Core folder like other Graviteam products. In the Gamersgate setup, there is a 'Data' folder which does contain the same additional folders found in a APOS 'Core' folder, however.

My question regards where the update or additional scenario files should be placed for game update. I have tried the 'Data' folder, but this only leads to a quick termination of the effort.

Ideas welcome

use the in game updater. It also works on MODs. Since all that stuff is made to use the updater, well use the updater. Placing things in folders will just brake stuff. The patch files will be placed in a folder called Dev_updates shockingly after patched with the updater.

After 'futzing' with the program to update with the Core Update 581 and the August 12 Patch, I remain at a loss of how to update the program.

In Operation Star there is a Core folder into which updates or scenario files are placed for updating the program. In Steel Armor there is no Core file, only a Bin and Data file.

Where is the updater to look to commence an update or addition to the new addition. I am only receiving question mark symbols.

In the hope of a positive resolution to this frustration, I will ask also where one can find the expansion programs such as 'Operation Hooper' and its campaign friends?

Thank You

Make sure you have the SABOW patch files and not the ones for GTOS. GTos ones will not work on SABOW and visa versa.

So you run the 581 exe. That will patch the engine. THen what should happen is the updater pops open. From there using the updater you navigate to where ever you saved the patch too. You might have to mess around using the file type in the updater (I do not remember what its defaults are). Click the patch, a clock appears, hit save and play. Done..

There is no Hooper DLC for SABOW. That is for GTOS. In SAbow that campaign is one of the default ones. Well, its a little different of course. You play as a T62 main battle tanker type guy.

And its these 2 files right? http://graviteam.com/games/SABOW.html?action=downloads

And the unpatched game is in English? That is another potential issue. That is, not being in English or Russian.

I thank you for the very prompt response and advice. I re-stumbled upon what I was looking for (a 'Core') in the Aug 12 engineering Beta3. I next ran the core update 581 which should bring the program "up to date".

I recognize APOS from SABOW, but are there not additional features and campaigns available with SABOW?

Thank You again.

Are you unpacking the .GT2 file? DOnt do that. Updater sees that file extension and knows what to do with it.

THe old way was with that a folder called core, in it was an .addpack file which told all the files where to go. Graviteam stopped using that way over 2 1/2 years ago as it caused issues. It was replaced with the .gt2 file type. Which can probably be opened with something like win zip. But dont do that. The games updater knows what to do with that file. All you have to do is click on in while navigating to it using the games updater.

I have installed both update files, the 581 Core Update and the August 12 Patch. What I am also seeking appears more illusive.

They are the 'WhuKid' IDF MODs, Operation Safari, Operation Hat, Margda Redux, M60 Update, Crescent Moon and the great Flashburn MiniMods and Missions such as the Dystopia Mission.

Where can these addons files found?

Have you tried searching first? biggrin

Compatible with the latest patch:
ISABOW
Weapon Mod
Sound mod for SABOW

Not compatible and old:
FlashBurn's minimod
IDF mod

Others are included in the above mods, or not compatible with the latest patch.

Operation hat was a learning campaign I made. Just goofing around learning. Not vary good. And evolved into operation safari which was more of an attempt on focusing on just 1 tank. Although there are a few replacements about. Most of the user campaigns I did are included in Isabow. Which also gives you some replacement AI controlled M113's and M113 with an M40 recoiless rifle. Although alot of the junk I made for SABOW ended up in the unofficial grtaviteam patch, the F5e, G3a3 rifle, and M2HB .50 cal machine gun. Isabow also gives many infantry types rifle fired grenades. So the infantry with rifles such as FN-Fal and G3's are more lethal. Although not every guy with those gets rifle grenades. That would have been a bit over the top.

Although, I am checking now to make sure I actually stuck a few of those campaigns into Isabow. Would be funny if I forget to back then.

Re: SABOW Install - 01/11/15 11:18 PM

nope...i never did stick that one in Isabow. Dumb of me.

http://www.mediafire.com/download/qmab26n4du8mbk8/Operation_safari_V1.5_ENG.zip

http://www.mediafire.com/download/6isgdri90iuhcha/FlashBurn_mission_Dystopia_V1.1_beta_ENG.zip

http://www.mediafire.com/download/5p4b3zx4v2csl0l/FlashBurn_Mardga_redux.zip

Now safari should work just fine in Isabow. Do not remember with the others. Or I should say with Dystopia. I simply do not remember. frown

I thank you all for the links provided. Yet Mr. Flashburn I am wondering as to how the "Safari" is activated. I followed the instructions, placing the 'campack' in the data/MTC/Camp folder.

Please advise

data/mtc80/shared/camps is the right folder.
