Ok,I am going to offer some constructive criticism.
Graviteam need to overhaul the patching process.
Yes, we are permanently working on it. The number of necessary steps that need to be done was reduced from 10+ to 3.
But it is clear that there can never be 0, no matter how we tried. Only if we do not make a patches, but this is not an option.
To new inexperienced players it must seem a rather odd process.I mean even the patch doesn't want to install into the default game folder.
Do not quite understand the second part. The patch is installed from the game, and the game updater immediately knows where is game located, in this case, does not care where the patch itself - in default game folder or in any another suitable for user.
Looking at the amount of patching queries on this forum should indicate that maybe a more streamlined approach would be better.
Yes, there are some difficulties. Mainly related to the fact that the library update for MS Visual Studio 2005 does not installed automatically in some cases. Yes its problem, but we can not solve it yourself now.
I never did get the polygons update installed and with no instructions on the Graviteam web-site it does not help.
All updates, patches, DLCs are installed in exactly the same manner. If you know how to install the patch (approx 3 steps), you can install update for polygons, and any DLCs and Mod. Even if there is no separate instructions for each.
I mean even clicking on the download links on their site just brings up a load of gobbledy-gook.
Usually when I click on something I expect to be taken to the relevant files, not have to right-click and 'save as'.
Unfortunately as is customary in most browsers that if you click on a link, then it means that you would like go to or open / view, but not download. Obviously, with respect to the patch - nothing special to view or open on its archive, it is designed for downloading. For this case present Save As.. function activated by the right-click.
Yes, some browsers, such as Google Chrome guess what you really want, some do not. To alter this concept on a global scale, correcting all browsers, we can not. We can only try turns out this issue, it works on some download sites, on some not always.
In some aspects like our old site or MS updates, yes.
