1) Fixed crash when pressing ESC while loading district maps in operation.
2) The algorithm of broken tracks is improved.
3) Weapons overheating algorithm is adjusted.
4) Differentiation and locks for paths on operational map is introduced.
5) Principle of editing paths in operation editor is improved.
6) The ability to import a database description for operation from other operation is added.
7) Fixed a bug with the repair in the abandoned vehicles (crew members now leave repair).
8) Added a separate button for the ambush. At this command the infantry and gun crews will be lie, vehicle crews will be close a hatches.
9) Removed the option for buttoned state for vehicles.
10) Now you can set the "level" of defensive structures in a quick battle.

Actually would be nice if red army/ german period icons where used depending on which side you played. A simple print out key for the budding battle commander to refer too.

But this LOOKS clean and vary good.

WOW..love it..authentic symbols...superb...I agree would be cool if you had both German and Rec Army symbols depending on what side your playing.

I wouldn't want to see NATO symbols..I want authenticity and it wouldn't take long to learn them...educating

Dane.. thats taking abit too far I think it's still a game. I do like period symbols in wargames not enough use them and it's good to see Graviteam do it, however I think it needs to be like Flash says it wouldn't make sense only having one sides symbol set esp if your playing the other side so to speak.

Dane you will get used to the if you use them or stick with what we have now as I expect you will have a choice.

You never know Dane someone will mod it to NATO or the game may come with NATO aswell..I don't think they look any less "clean" than NATO symbols..infact they look quite cool in comparison. At one point you had to learn NATO symbols..I'm sure you will pick this up aswell.

In theory I agree completely. But I think our view is the minority. Also it would appear maps are generated direct from source files for the polygon. Meaning that yes indeed they are vary precise in some ways, but IMO do mot show enough detail for mild contours. Which means not a darn thing is actually wrong.

It's WWII, not the Cold War. Every war out there today has NATO icons, so I don't feel we need another one. IMO.

I dont have the alpha March 2013 patch installed. But I read at Graviteam's forum the style of icons is choseable. When the final patch is out and installed it then I would choose the historical symbols as well.

ANybody else finding the pz4g rather blind as a bat? in alpha. Loosing all my pz4's to kv1 as they seem totally blind to it over 200 meters. The pz4 f2 seems to be ok. HArd to tell as it fires 1st then gets blown up by kv1. biggrin And kv1 turret rotates stupid fast...is that right?

I'm not running the alpha patch myself. Running a campaign I want to finish first.
I'm a little worried the game is getting to complicated for new players.
We're getting more different colors flashing icons on the map. Might be getting confusing now.
Though I could be wrong as I have not tried the patch. I'm hoping for the best smile

Uuh no..I do not play games on tablet or phone.

But seriously..you need to find a good balance between gameplay fun and simulation. If the gameplay is not any fun anymore then players may walk away from it. My point is, do not make it too complex. Just my opinion.

Wicked, like everything with this game it's not as complicated as it first appears..all it's doing is howing you how the units are communicating within the platoon..

I watched a platoon with an IG slowly spot entrenched Russian troops..I then watched how the icons lit up as the info was passed around until the IG gun turned and spotted then fired..I never gave one order, luckily I had placed my HQ and the IG gun in a position where they had line of fire and LOS...also no other action was happening so I could really watch how it all worked.

I'm still unsure on command points but so far I have played and haven't really needed to know what was happening as it didn't get in the way of the game..but the Icons are just purely info feedback..

I had similar concerns to yourself, until I saw it in action in that particular scenario..I then realised it was just telling me what was happening..i.e the HQ is talking to the squad, or the gun crew is talking to each other..or they spotted something or heard something. Once one spots or sees something then the voice icons strat to light up as th einfo is passed around..then en eye icon lights as a unit spots the enemy unit that it was told about..

Thanks Wodin. I installed the alpha (a4) march patch myself today so I know better what I am talking about wink

I love the new Wehrmacht icons. Very nice. (though Wehrmacht in option menu when you choose the icons is spelled/typo wrong).

About the communication. Yea I see what you are talking about. The blue bar on top is new also. Kind of a timebar when you give orders I think. Not sure how to describe it myself.

I do have a question about a campaign with the a4 patch/updates. Not sure if things are final, they can change.
About the 11 Panzer campaign (Rakitnoe). Why is the 2nd SS Div now allied? I know I can set them up for player too but with the new a4-patch I get a penalty for that, not? Why is this?

And just a note. The Wehrmacht during WWII changed rapidly, units, organisation and equipment. So did also the Wehrmacht handbook with the icons. The game is using the WH icons of 1941-1942. Wich is just fine as we use a mix of light, medium and heavy armor. During 1943 till 1945 they changed a little again. Then I think you have one type of armor icon.

Anyways..dont have much time today but will check more tomorrow smile

Ah I see. I probably had Player takes control of Allies enabled in pre-a4 march patch. All clear now.

I'm afraid the AI troops do not share your optimism. Under the control of the own AI commander they feel more comfortable crew

While testing that campagin out on German side......first time LOL! Well i started without ai control under user command. I could still control 3 squads? I though that odd, but had no issue with it. Later I enable ai under user control and indeed their moral went to lowest levels. but the amount of fire power that unit had it simply ment difficulty commanding unit. Half the time they would not except any orders........even basic movement orders to RUN AWAY!. SO on low moral levels and new command system I think the cost of movemet order should be decreased a bit. But still wiped out everything on that side of map as the formation despite low moral is easily capable of killing everything on that side.

More silly was ALL soveit armor counter attacking on 11 panzers side. Formed arty traps and killed/disabled most tanks in 2nd turn. Was shockingly easy after that even set on hard. USed pz2 to vary good effect. biggrin

Flashburn I'm confused..I thought it was possible to control all units and the allied thing was about troops that are considered Allies on the operational map..where you can either leave it to the AI or take it over..

If thats not the case are you saying the only unit your allowed to control is the highest HQ unit on a given map? If so I'm ditching the game..fair enough if it was the allied side set in the operation like the SS division is in Ratiknoe..but if it isn't that and it means you can only really control one unit on the map it just isn't worth playing anymore.

I will say not all scenarios are that easy..ratiknoe at the start as the Germans is a tough proposition.

ONe unit no............ I was basicly alpha testing.. I started out playing as 11 panzer.....which was something like 30 platoons worth of guys. Each platoon having up 7 or 8 squads or tanks. In that senario there is also 2nd SS. You can contotl it as well or have ai do it. What was odd was that when SET TO AI CONTROL SS guys I had control of 2 or 3 platoons of 2nd SS guys AS WELL as all of 11th panzer. Its an open alpha test so this is just feed back.

So just contorl HQ.........no that would be epic STUPID. Best thing is just try the alpha test out. Its just an open test but shows where things are going. Its NOT a final anything. AND if you look under options you can turn off all the new stuff like command delay and all the new stuff. In which case it plays out like always. All this panic silliness over new features that can be turned off is nuts. biggrin

ANd the new systems get thumbs up from me. They just need tweeking to get right. Which is what this open testing is about.

As I said it takes to stop the development of the game and do only this feature, and then a long and tedious search for bugs. We can not afford to do it now.

There's quite a few occurrences of this, .. I think all the number 1s are represented by the letter I.

The Mig-24 is in the game as a .. Mig-25 (Text Only) scuseme .. nope

.. was wondering why I couldn't find the Mig-24 .. it's because in the Unit Screens etc. .. it says .. Mi-25 confused

In game not present Mig-24 (what is it?) not Mig-25.
Only helicopters Mi-24D and Mi-25 (export variant of Mi-24)

Aircraft is MiG-23BN.

Oops .. my bad .. blush .. I was looking for Mi-24 .. NOT .. Mi-25. I didn't even know the Hind was also known as Mi-25 for export version. When I saw Mi-25 I automatically thought of Mig-25 Foxbat. winkngrin

I have just gone to update my game.
I installed the core update 5.81.
I wasn't sure if I needed to apply the March 2013 patch first and then the March 13b second?
Anyway I applied the earlier one first which seemed to install ok but on running the game I get

Any pointers?

OK,I fixed it.
Un-installed game and any left-over files.
Re-installed game followed by core update 5.81 and then the mar13b patch. smile

Oh no.
Its a very simple thing

1 Download game core update (5.81) and last patch (March 13)
2 Install game core update first, carefully select main game folder
3 In game updater tool (it appears automatically if previous step is ok) select last patch
4 Click Save&play

Its ok.

Yeah I did that and it worked ok Tuesday.
I have done nothing else to the game but today it gave same error.

Update doesn't work for me.

I install the core update (gtos_cu_581c1_eng.exe) and that seems to work. I've selected the right file location and I've got the previous updates successfully installed.

When I run the update utility and select (gtos_patch_march13c4_eng.gt2extension), it causes MS Notepad to open a file called "last_bug.txt".

The text in the file reads:

Hi,

Yip, .. same problem here.

However, .. I don't think the Patch was uploaded correctly.

Andrey states in his post, that the filesize is 481 Mb. I've downloaded via the torrent file,
and the Direct Link .. and the filesizes were both 449 Mb. ??


Hopefully Andrey and the lads sort it out soon.

Guys I am getting following error message every time I try to run the Afghan Campaign, also the same happens when I try the T62 or Chieftain tank in any quick battle on any map any ideas?

Got my T62 up and running, however I have to disable most of my other DLC, or the game will stop on the same error!

Though I'm not sure about gtos_cu_581_eng, the latest is c1, but what this is...

The order is: core update (gtos_cu_581_eng (c1?)) - first, patch (gtos_patch_march13c4_eng) - second, everything else - after these.

I know what it is. Dont understand why is it necessary in a tank simulator, or even more so in tactics. Simple do not see any controls - no way to play.

Seems to be the in thing to say.."Occulus Rift"..even when it would be pointless in game..People want it in flight sims yet you can't see your stick or keyboard..I say just move your monitor upto your nose and your away.
