I don't have that folder in my install.

Oh, well.. it's under Black Shark 2, but not A-10C.

Sorry mixed the folders up - I didn't downloaded A-10 patch up to now but saw this FM folder in BS2 and a hint that it will be able to Mod planes - now there is a "Mods" folder in DCS root and a "mod_plane_sample.lua".

So I was curious if there is a flyable P51 in Warthog now - that's why I asked here.

Be nice if there was, that's a nice warbird!

The mention of Flying Legends in the Road Map announcement confirms that'll be one of them then. Wonder what else will make the list?

FC3 + P-51 + BS2= don't care.

All I'd like is the Nevada map by Christmas.

Quit milking old products for more money and gimme the map I thought I was getting 6 months ago!

It could be disinformation campaign by DCS to confuse competitors…

Uh...WHAT competitors?

While the P-51B is a nice plane and all, it seems out of place. Is it meant to be a MODERN P-51B ie a classic warbird that you just fly around the DCS terrain in but do no combat with like an FSX addon? If so, big deal. If it's for combat, that would really require WWII to be right, and that means a whole new batch of ground units, air units, and terrain changes to make it more WWII and less NOW.

Anyway, while the idea of a WWII DCS series would be great, I won't care if it's just an FSX addon that's been done by ED for the DCS game engine.

You are getting much more that just a "Map" with Neveda. Hence the delay. Development of Nevada and EDGE, has not been impacted in the slightest by the other products. It is produced by a completely separate ED office in Minsk.

Hmm sounds like a very popular U.S. fixed-wing fighter.

because of the quality of the flight modelling in DCS, I would be more than interested in buying it.

I just can't seem to understand why they (ED/TFC) don't frachise it out for developers to...er say do a 60's combat sim ;-) you know the F4 Phantom (oh I drool) F-2/6 F-8 Mig 17/12/23/25 Star fighter (another drool) F100 ..etc. You don't need a big plane set ground units to have imaginative fun just a balance for each side and f8ck historical battles and maps, use imagination and 'what if'...well anyway my thoughts as DCS would bring my dreams to reality if they ever brought these old 60s warbirds to their simulator.

Your missions must be set on 'easy mode' to accomplish LOL

I played so much CYAC in the day. I can't recall how many times I heard Chuck say "Ok, get back up there and try it again" or "Good thing this is just a simulator."

The game itself had 3 eras of planes: WWII, Korea, and Vietnam.

As for ED reselling this engine for another dev to work with, I don't think that would work. While the engine they've made is designed for flight simming, that doesn't mean you can just make some 3D models and skins, grab some numbers from a book, and plug it all in to make a hardcore sim.

I'm interested to see what this ends up being, but I'm not certain I'll get it like I'm certain I'll get whatever the next modern era jet is.
