TSH 3.06 v. 4.02-which one is everyone using?

Before I get back into this sim, which version of TSH is everyone suggesting?

I think most are using 3.06, but I like and am using 4.02 (cooler sounds). I'm still on an XP machine.

I recall that there were some issues with 4.02, but I don't recall what they were. Is an install guide included with either package?

Since this is the first time I have installed either package, I may just go with 3.06 4.02 to start.

Any comment?

I think there were issues with some win 7 machines. I've never had any problems with xp. As far as install guides, there was one for 4.02 on the old TSH website which I think no longer exists. It's been so long since I've installed mine I can't remember how I did it. The VF-41 site has a 3.06 one-click installer that installs everything for that version. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I've been using 4.02 without any issues for quite a while. However, I'm sure the folks at Black Aces will recommend their 3.06 one-click installer. I haven't really tried multi-player on 4.02 but I think that MP is more stable on 3.06. If I didn't already have a stable 4.02 installation, I would choose 3.06. And at some point in the future, if I found myself with enough time to enjoy this sim and try MP, I may attempt to revert to 3.06.

From memory 3.06 is more multiplayer stable - Black Aces guys will know.

The Black Aces still fly multiplayer weekly and have always used 3.06 without a problem. I have had it on my pc since it came out and fly both single and multiplayer regularly. Never had a single issue.
