Commserver Update - 07/07/19 09:49 PM

OK AndyB, You wanted Flares, Chaff, and the Upfront Display exported for home cockpits via the commserver. Here's what I've got, now you need to test it.
It exports the number of Flares, number of Chaff, and the four lines of text from the Upfront Display and the three/four lines from the Ekran.

Helo's with Upfront:
ApacheD
AH64A
Default
Blackhawk

Helo's with Ekran:
Havoc
Hind
Hokum
KA-50

On the Apache I've just seen a Clock and a Fuel Level on the Upfront Display.

I have no idea where the Ekran is located on Hind and the Hokum, and I've never noticed it display anything on the KA-50 and the Havoc. I've never looked, didn't even know it was there.

I've never used the commserver feature, so you will have to test it and tell me if it works or not. It compiled and ran and my machine didn't crash or glitch or anything on any of the helos. The cohokum_test14.exe includes all of my other upgrades as well, I didn't compile a cut-down version. If something else glitches, go get the rest of it from the MFD_Export thread.

Best of Luck,
Javelin

Hi Javelin,

Many thanks for that.

I take it that the Comanche uses the default UFD as it's not on your list ?

I'll install as soon as I can and let you know the results. Wasn't expecting this as quickly so may be a few days before I reply.

Thanks again,

Andy

I'm not sure what the Comanche uses. There are almost a dozen warning lights which replace most of the UFD, the fuel wt. Is on the Engine MFD, and the clock is used to display the time to the next waypoint on the Nav and Flight MFD's. The Apache is the main helo that uses the upfront display.

I know most of the data is on warning lights on the Comanche's digital dashboard. It's more for times when there is damage to the aircraft/engines. I've noticed in the game that after the master caution comes on a message is displayed to help identify the problem.

(yes, I do get shot down a lot of times !!!)

Cheers,

Andy

I've not played the sim that much, but when I read through the DCS manual for the Blackshark, there was a whole section dedicated to the Ekran, and the message codes it shows. I think in eech, it's pretty basic for all helos.

Edit: when I say I've not played much, I mean I just make code changes and run it to make sure it works. I've not played a campaign for ages

As far as I can tell, there are no upfront display messages in the Comanche. Sorry.
I activated it anyway. Fly an Apache and it should work/send you message.

I fly around in the Sim quite often, but I haven't flown a campaign in a while either. I have time for skirmishes, but not an entire war.
